Hello Xfce Geekos,
Thunderbird 78 dropped the standard GnuPG in favour of their own
implementation of OpenPGP which sparked this discussion here:
https://lists.opensuse.org/archives/list/factory@lists.opensuse.org/thread/…
I'd like to know what are the general thoughts on this and feedback if
openSUSE Xfce should consider switching default to Claws Mail instead.
Claws mail is a very powerful client and it's a lot lighter than
Thunderbird, making it a good fit for Xfce. Claws mail also supports
GnuPG well via a plugin that it's available OOTB.
The downside is that compared to Thunderbird, Claws Mail is a bit
clunkier to configure and pretty ugly by default, although there are
nice themes available.
I look forward to hearing from your thoughts.
Cheers,

Dear Xfce Geekos,
About two years ago we introduced the OBS repo X11:xfce:rat, which
builds Xfce components directly from Git master branch instead of using
regular release tarballs[1]. Today openSUSE Xfce Team is proud to
introduce a new and simpler way to enjoy those builds by using qcow2
images for KVM & XEN , we created with the use of OBS, Kiwi and
Virtualization combined.
The build process is fully automated and packages get updated on a
regular basis giving users qcow2 disk images with Xfce's latest builds
based on openSUSE's rolling release Tumbleweed [2][3].
Currently there are two sets of qcow2 images for KVM & Xen:
a) The openSUSE version provides the default experience Tumbleweed and
Leap users are familiar with, which includes all the openSUSE branding,
look & feel and settings.
b) The "vanilla" disk image ships Xfce completely unmodified from Git
sources and without any openSUSE visual tweakings. This gives Xfce devs
(and testers alike) who want to build and test software inside a
complete Xfce environment the most convenient way to do so.

The most convenient way to use openSUSE's Xfce RAT disk images is
virt-manager. The simplified steps are:
1. Download either of the qcow2 images linked above
2. Import the downloaded qcow2 image in virt-manager
3. Boot the imported image and follow the "first-time boot" wizard
until the setup is complete 4. Have a lot of fun!

Bug ID: 1178787
Summary: On Dell Laptop XFCE Leap 15.2 "Print dialogue" box is
to large, buttons off screen
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE Distribution
Version: Leap 15.2
Hardware: 64bit
OS: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Xfce
Assignee: bnc-team-xfce(a)forge.provo.novell.com
Reporter: eionmac(a)btinternet.com
QA Contact: qa-bugs(a)suse.de
Found By: ---
Blocker: ---
On a fully up to date XFCE openSUSE LEAP 15.2 on a Dell E6530, when asking to
print brings up a dialogue box where the bottom of box is off screen, thus
'operable buttons' are not visible. e.g. Print, Cancel etc.
How to resolve this?

Hi,
reading the freshcode.club new uploads RSS feed, I have found the (apparently)
new version 7 of your package package-update-indicator. (Old version last
notified/in tree was 6).
(This is just for your information. You decide whether to upgrade a package or
not.)

It is a known issue and upstream narrowed it down to powermanager and upower
crashing. It will hopefully get fixed in the upcoming 4.16 release.

Since this is an upstream bug I will close it and follow upstream instead. Feel
free to reopen it in the future if the problem doesn't get fixed or reappears.
