Problems with cdrtool. Included dmesg output.

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me. I desperately want to use packet-cd, but I can't seem to get it to work. When I use cdrwtool I get the following error from cdrwtool -d /dev/scd0 -q wait_cmd: Input/output error Command failed: 04 17 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - sense 03.0c.00 format disc: Illegal seek I used it on my usb cdrw and my internal/ide cdrw drive. Here's my dmesg output. Please. I hope someone can help. -Leo

mkudffs issues III

There's another thing i'd like to ask/point out about mkudffs... A windows machine with HP-DLA (the one that comes with the HP 200i drive) is not able to read a linux mkudffs formatted disc (UDF revision 1.5 set to). Error mount udf after cdrwtool

Hello, i am having trouble and I am wondering if there is anyone that can help me. After runing cdrwtool -d /dev/scd0 and then pktsetup /dev/pktcdvd0 /dev/scd0, I try to mount the udf file system on /dev/pktcdvd0, but I get an error saying that there is a bad superblock. mkudffs issues

Hello, when envoking 'system' from an application like the following code shows: // format media with UDF if( -1 == system( "/usr/bin/mkudffs --spartable=2 --media-type=cdrw --udfrev=0x0150 /dev/scd0" ) ) { fprintf( stderr, "OpticalDrive::formatMedia : format UDF : ERROR : %s\n", strerror( errno ) ); iRet = -1; } The system call itself does not give me a return of -1, so my error is not shown, but i see the following message: trying to change type of multiple extents If i execute the command in the command line, everything works ok. any comments? Should i do the system call with exec* instead? if so, why would it matter ? gustavo

UDF kernel module

Hello, Does anyone know if it is ok to use the UDF kernel module that comes with kernel 2.4.19? Or is it recommended that I use the linux-udf kernel module instead? Should I compile the kernel module with write support in the kernel if I do? Does the packet-cd 2.4.19-2 patch work with the 2.4.19 kernel or should I use the 2.4.19 patch? -Leo http://foopan.ath.cx

pktsetup and cdrwtool problems

Hello, I read the instructions for preparing a cd-rw for packet writing, and this is what I did. I formatted my cd-rw with cdrwtool -d /dev/scd0 -q and then I ran: pktsetup /dev/pktcdvd0 /dev/scd0 but I get the error: ioctl: Inappropriate ioctl for device from pktsetup. Any ideas? Also, is there any way that I can use packet writing with a cd-r? I would really like to do packet writing with a cd-r. I am also having trouble with mkudffs. When I use the command: mkudffs --spartable=2 --media-type=cdrw /dev/scd0 I get the error: trying to change type of multiple extents Any ideas on this one as well?
