Hello to the list!
I'm a first time user to UDF/Packet CD. So far, I've been using my DVD-RAM
as a glorified CD-RW using the extended cdrecord tools. I'd like to start
using it as a DVD-RAM though, with UDF. All of my discs have been
previously formated to ISO-9960 FS standard.
I'm running a Debian environment, 'testing' level. Here's my setup:
udftools-1.0.0b2
ext1:~# cdrecord -scanbus
scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) 'HL-DT-ST' 'DVDRAM GSA-4163B' 'A103' Removable CD-ROM
0,1,0 1) *
ext1:~# cdrwtool -d /dev/sr0 -i
using device /dev/sr0
832KB internal buffer
setting write speed to 12x

... when I try and perform a "quick setup" on the disc to start using it
with UDF I get:
ext1:~# cdrwtool -d /dev/sr0 -q
using device /dev/sr0
832KB internal buffer
setting write speed to 12x
Settings for /dev/sr0:

... I then tried:
ext1:~# cdrwtool -d /dev/sr0 -b full -t 4
using device /dev/sr0
full blank
setting speed to 4
832KB internal buffer
setting write speed to 4x

... Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? I've experimented with
setting the write speed (-t ?) to as low as 1 to see if that was the issue,
but no joy. I skimmed google, but didn't find anything meaningful on the
matter. Thanks in advance for all help.
