patch for 2.4.9?

Ok so who is going to whip up a patch for 2.4.9? I just tried that one that someone did for 2.4.8 today and lotsa "device not ready" errors showed up in my syslog. --John

2.4.7-pre7 + some things + ISDN

Hallo , 1st i've a problem, to understand the enumeration on packet-cd. I get the patch 0.0.2m, which says "grab kernel 2.4.6 or 2.4.7-pre7". Now i have original kernel 2.4.6, and after patching and compiling, uname says, i've kernel 2.4.7-pre7. Have i now to apply the other patch in the packet? Can someone a little explain, how to understand this? 2nd, when patching my 2.4.6 to 2.4.7-pre7, i can't get my hisax-module for ISDN running. There are error-messages about a "declaration jiftime". OK, if i save my original-isdn-modules from 2.4.6 before compiling and then restore this to the modules-dir, my ISDN works; but i'm allways not really happy with such workarounds:-). 3rd: vmware-demo won't compile with the patched kernel. I don't have the errormess at hand, because in the moment i'm back to 2.4.6 for testing vmware. Somebody a hint for this prob? And at general: Is it worth, to upgrade the kernel to higher versions when using packet-CD? Are there any benefits for it? Greetings-- Email:KOALASOFT@GMX.DE

Hi! Anybody who know the internals of Linus change to the dirty thing can fix the patch. Andrew Morton released ext 0.9.6 for 2.4.8 some hours ago. I hope it's OK to apply the packet-cd patch on top of it, like in 2.4.7. I'll test packet-cd and everything next week because I'm still waiting the first burner I acquired, LG 8160B.
