So, vielen Dank erstmal an alle Beteiligten :) Seit heute Morgen 10:00CEST ist Schluss, jetzt werden die Pakete gepackt und am 2. May im nächsten pre-Release verfügbar sein (soweit ich weiß..). Evtl. kann/will sich die ja jemand angucken, dann fällt es auch leichter einzuschätzen ob bei der Übersetzung was schief gelaufen ist. Bug fixes werden soweit ich weiß noch akzeptiert und ansonsten können wir natürlich immer noch ein bisschen was hier und dort verbessern - dürfen aber nicht mehr davon ausgehen das sie auf'm Goldmaster drauf sind. Hier eine kleine Abschlussstatistik unserer Arbeit: Statistik für alle(yast+lcn*): Pakete: 149 Vollständig übersetzt: 97,99 % (146) Nur Vorlage vorhanden: 0,00 % (0) Nur PO-Datei vorhanden: 100,00 % (149) Einträge: 32 135 Übersetzt: 99,44 % (31 954) Fraglich: 0,20 % (65) Nicht übersetzt: 0,36 % (116) *(gnome-packagekit wird dabei nicht berücksichtigt) Grüße Michael

[opensuse-translation-de] File locking und proofread in Verbum

Hi Ich hab das jetzt so gemacht, dass ich erst eine Datei in Verbum "locked" (also "zugewiesen" setze wenn ich sie gerade bearbeite und nach dem commit meiner Übersetzungen auf "proofread" setze (und damit entsperre). Damit kann direkt nach meiner ersten "Runde" schon mit dem Proofreaden angefangen werden. Derzeit sind aber sehr viele Dateien in Verbum als "gelockt" gekennzeichnet und ich bin nicht sicher, ob ihr auch wirklich alle parallel an so vielen Dateien arbeitet. Ich jedenfalls wende mich dann lieber anderen Dateien zu, um diese gegen zu lesen. Deshalb meine Frage: ist ein solches "langzeit locking" in Verbum wirklich gewollt? Ich würde mir eher wünschen, wir setzen nur solche Dateien auf "Zugewiesen", die auch wirklich gerade bearbeitet werden. Der für eine Datei "Verantwortliche" kann sich ja generell in den Header der Datei eintragen (immerhin muss er auf die Weise die Datei schon mal irgendwie bearbeiten ;-). Das hindert andere dann nicht daran, eine Datei, die gerade ein paar neue Übersetzungen braucht zu bearbeiten, nur weil dort ein Schloß gesetzt ist. Was haltet ihr davon? Hi Derzeit "übersetze" ich Clients mit Client/Clients, was ungefähr http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Client entspricht. Ich hab aber auch schon "Klient" gesehen, was mir persönlich allerdings überhaupt nicht gefällt, weil ich das eher mit einem Anwalt in Verbindung bringe. andere Vorschläge? Hallo Liste, wie würdet ihr Upgrade übersetzen? Ich habe es bisher als _Aktualisierung (Upgrade)_ übersetzt, um es vom Update abzuheben, welches ich nur als _Aktualisierung_ übersetzt habe. Alternativen wären: Aufwertung, Aufrüstung, Verbesserung _Aktualisierung (Upgrade)_ empfand ich bisher als treffend. [opensuse-translation-de] Dienst vs. Daemon

Hallo Liste, ich würde gerne klären, ob wir Daemon mit Dienst übersetzten, oder ob wir ihn bei Daemon belassen? Ich würde das gerne noch in die Standardübersetzungen aufnehmen, die ich am Sonntag/Montag nochmal durch alle Dateien hindurch abklappern werde. Aus diesem Grund bitte ich auch, die Dateien bis spätestens Sonntag Abend 23:00 CEST eingeschickt/per SVN eingespielt zu haben, da Dateien die später rein kommen, u.U. nicht mehr erfasst werden von mir. (Absolute Deadline für die Übersetzungen ist der Montag um 10:00 CEST, damit die Übersetzungen noch mit rein kommen) Grüße und allen ein schönes Wochenende Michael

Hallo alle miteinander, wollte hiermit nur mal wieder ne neue Einheitsübersetzung vorschlagen: Changelog -> Änderungsprotokoll? Irgendwelche Einwände oder Gegenvorschläge? Wenn nicht, trage ich das mal so in Verbum ein. Soll ich zukünftig solche Vorschläge überhaupt an die Liste schreiben, oder nervt das eher? Ich sehe darin erstmal drei Funktionen: 1. Die Dokumentierung, damit es auch irgendwo außerhalb von Verbum (wo ja nicht jeder, der auch auf der Liste ist, eingeschrieben ist) 2. Die Bekanntmachung, man bekommt es einfacher mit, als wenn man ständig im Glossar auf gut Glück gucken muss 3. Natürlich auch Feedback bzw. Gegenvorschläge von euch Grüße Michael

Guten Start in die Woche allen miteinander, ich wollte mal darüber diskutieren ob wir von den "Letzten Aktualisierungen" oder von den "Neusten Aktualisierungen" sprechen sollen? Ich würde, zukünftig solche Begriffsfragen in Verbum festhalten, wo wir neuerdings auch ein Glossar für solche Zwecke haben. (Button links oben) Grüße Michael P.S.: Wie ich Karl vorhin verstanden habe sind die letzten Merge Prozesse abgeschlossen und wir können jetzt bis zum 28.04 in die Haupt-Übersetzungs-Runde starten. Wer nix zu tun hat oder nicht weiß was er machen soll/kann/darf, der meldet sich bitte bei mir, zu tun gibt's immer was ;)

Hallo allerseits, wie sicherlich bekannt hat die letzte Runde für uns begonnen, bis zum 2. Mai haben wir Zeit mit unseren Übersetzungen fertig zu werden. (Naja, eigentlich schon vorher, sie müssen ja noch eingecheckt werden...). Jetzt aber zu ner anderen Frage: Ich übersetzte grade die Timezone-DB, wo unter anderem Bezeichnungen wie "Eastern (New York)" oder "South Georgia" vorkommen, sollen die so belassen werden, oder sollten die mit Östlich bzw. "Süd Georgia" übersetzt werden? Zumindest das erstere ist ja kein Eigenname im eigentlichen Sinne... Grüße Michael

There is a clear tendency to implement Linux as a windows clone with all it's drawback like unspecific or unclear messages, more restrictive behaviour (e.g., one cannot move maximized windows any longer, even when the window is maximized to one screen only on a multiple screen setup), more complicated interfaces (e.g. the Gimp file dialog comes to my mind), testing probably only on stand alone machines or in single user and single screen desktop configurations etc. pp.. I cannot stop this direction. And reporting bugs takes quite some time as well. So when reporting one bug, in the next openSUSE version I find two new annoyances for this. I do understand your argumentation, but I'm engaged in some other projects (for free) as well, and I have to keep our machines running here at work, so I don't have so much time for reporting bugs or annoyances. And this even more, when the effect of seems to be very limited. Your argument 'people can understand it, when they get some basic knowledge about it' might be ok. But when someone is writing something like 'this [...]' and does not give any reference point, 'this' is referring to, the text tends to create confusion and not clarity. When someone is writing about two problems, but three problem sections are following, he is limiting information, even though the text is to give information. When someone is writing about 'invalid packages', he assumes, it is clear, what an invalid package might be. But this term is at least ambiguous. So why is it done like this? Information is to increase clarity and not to hide clarity. I did not have any problems understanding unresolved package dependencies or other similar installation messages in version 7 to 9 of SuSE, so why did SUSE 'improve'(???) the messages in newer versions to a complete mess? Is it such a problem to tell people: - this package (A) depends on package (B), but package (B) is not available for this computer architecture (C)? Well, no, the text speaks about resolvables, which is a word invented by SUSE (part of bug 292309); it speaks about 'invalid packages' - whatever this might be; it speaks about 'installable providers', which seems to be nonsense as well; it refers to something not mentioned anywhere; etc. pp.. My point is: the translation I reported the bug on might have had the chance to give an (easily) understandable information, but it failed. If the english text also does not give an understandable information, one should / might propagate it upwards. But the translation does not even provide a completely correct german syntax or semantics. So it seems to be valid to keep in here in the translation group. And yes: it's not a technical problem, so one can continue working with openSUSE. And if everyone thinks this and other similar unclear messages are ok, then one can leave it like this. Then it's the direction, openSUSE (and others) are developing to. It heavily reminds me of Windows messages, but when one likes to clone Windows, it seems to be valid to clone the information hiding of Windows as well. Maybe I will join the translation group sometime in future, so other people can complain about my translations as well, but for now, I won't. And I know: whatever one does, someone will be able to criticize it. Even though the more or less word-by-word translation might be correct. If the english text does not have any reasonable meaning as well, it will be another bug. But I don't really know if a 'provider' in english is more than just a company or person offering you some products, so I cannot really judge if an 'installable provider' does have any meaning. And else. One other bug in the same area resulted in a WONTFIX or similar, even though it was clear, the word in the english text was not an english word, but just an invention from SUSE. So I leave it up to the translation group to shed some light on this. When the translation group also likes to invent some new words or if it likes to restrict itself to a word-by-word translation without caring for the meaning, then it's a decision in the SUSE product line and no longer a matter of me. Ich habe heute im IRC eine Diskussion von Mirrakor und sapex am Rande verfolgt, in der es um die Übersetzung von openSuSE ging. Da ich schon des öfteren mal etwas übersetzt habe (u.a. einzelne Strings für KDE und größere Teile für Foresight-Linux) und ich inzwischen nurnoch openSuSE als OS benutze (bis vor ca. 2 Monaten war bei mir noch Ubuntu, Debian unstable, Arch, Foresight etc. auf diversen PC's installiert, z.T. auch nur in einer VM) dachte ich mir, warum nicht openSuSE helfen?! In den letzten Tagen versuchte ich auch, mir einen groben Überblick über den Entwicklungsprozess zu verschaffen, was mir bisher aber noch nicht so ganz gelungen ist. Eigentlich wollte ich auch am Wochenende am Packaging Day teilnehmen, woraus aber nichts wurde, da ich seit Donnerstag (und noch bis Mittwoch) etwas im Stress bin, da ich gerade meine Abi-Klausuren schreib. Jedenfalls bin ich also hier gelandet und werde euch in Zukunft hoffentlich möglichst erfolgreich helfen können. Zu mir selber gibt es nicht arg viel zu sagen, ich bin 19 Jahre alt, lebe im schönen Schwabenland und bin (noch) 19 Jahre alt, und schreibe wie schön erwähnt zzT mein Abitur (allg. bildendes Gymnasium). Linux benutze ich jetzt schon seit vielen Jahren, in denen ich auch sehr viele Distributionen ausprobiert habe. Auf www.phos4.de kann man meinen Blog finden. Jetzt hab ich noch'n kurz-FAQ für POAT: == Was bedeuten die blinkenden Lampen? == Grün = 100% Übersetzt & 0% Fuzzy Gelb = 100% Übersetzt & >0% Fuzzy (Sprich: Noch ein paar Fuzzy) Rot = <100% Übersetzt (Sprich: Noch ein paar unübersetzte) == Wie kann ich mir eine Datei zuweisen? == Um den Dateistatus zu ändern klicken Sie auf das Status -Icon. Wenn das Icon nicht klickbar ist, liegt es daran, dass Sie diese Datei nicht aktualisieren können (wahrscheinlich verfügen Sie nicht über die erforderlichen Rechte). Anschließend kann man sich die Datei zuweisen, zurückstellen, und Korrekturlesen beantragen. (Bitte guckt auch, das die Änderungen übernommen werden, mir war schon so, das er glaube ich nicht immer das auch übernommen hat..) Wenn Sie nur engeschränkte Rechte haben und eine Datei bearbeiten wollen, kontaktieren Sie Ihren Team-Koordinator. == Ich bin fertig - Was nun? == Dann packst du das ganze in ein tar oder ein tar.gz(besser) Archiv und klickst oben auf "Dateien Übertragen", dann kannst du das Archiv hochladen, es wird automatisch auf Formatierungsfehler überprüft und anschließend wird der Status in der Dateiliste auf "Warten auf Übernahme" gestellt, ich werde die dann übernehmen und es wird auf "Warten auf Prüflesen" gestellt. Einige, ältere Übersetzter haben u.U. noch einen SVN account und können Übersetzungen direkt committen, dies bitte nicht als persönliche degradierung sehen, das ist einfach historisch bedingt ;) (Auch die bitte ich, so ein bisschen das System zu benutzen, damit wir auch - Falls jemand Zeit/Lust hat Korrekturlesen können, was wir letztes mal aus Zeitmangel nicht so ganz gemacht haben, wahrscheinlich aber auch nicht geschadet hätte...) Ansonsten wäre ich auch dafür auf dem Wiki eine Liste mit Einheitsbegriffe einzuführen.

Hi Gibt es für das "Ding" schon eine Anleitung? - Was soll damit allgemein erreicht werden? - Gibt es nur Zahlen, oder auch eine Grafik mit fuzzies? - Wie kann ich mich einer Datei "zuordnen"/"löschen"? - Gibt es Benachrichtigungen, wenn die Zahl der Fuzzies in einer Datei ansteigt, der man zugeordnet ist? Ich schon wieder, ich fände es ganz praktisch, wenn wir uns da auf eine einheitliche Übersetzung einigen könnten, im Moment finde ich: - Repositorium - Depot - Katalog - Installationsquelle ...
