[opensuse-es] modulo sata para discos pata en opensuse 10.3 y rendimiento

No tengo mucho conocimiento respecto a este módulo, pero visto que a partir de esta versión los discos IDE se van a manejar con el soporte pata incluido en el módulo sata - desconozco lo maduro de este soporte - , aparte del problema del límite de particiones, usar el módulo sata para dispositivos pata, no perjudica de alguna manera el rendimiento, o no tendrá influencia alguna? Saludos.

He entrado en la BIOS y he visto que existen dos formas de poner el disco: Bit-Shift LBA asistido ¿Cuál de las dos es mejor para Linux? También he visto que está activa la "Virtualization Technology" ¿Eso quiere decir que tengo virtualización por hardware? ¿Se puede utilizar XEN? ¿Qué otros programas se pueden utilizar? -- Saludos. Me he bajado el driver lightscribe de LaCie para mi grabadora externa. No sé muy bien si es compatible con ella porque da pocos datos la página. También me he bajado el programa "labeler". Ambos son rpm y dice (Al menos eso entiendo yo) en la página que se integra con K3b y que sirve para SuSE 10. ¿Alguien lo ha instalado y me puede dar alguna información sobre si funciona o no y cómo funciona con K3b? -- Saludos. El programa vm-manager es una especie vmware-workstation, pero con menos configuración. El problema es que te ejecuta las máquinas virtuales con el vmware-player. Con el programa puedes crear una máquina virtual en blanco, abrir una existente o crearla a partir de una ISO. Todas vmware, claro está. Virtual Box dice: VirtualBox kernel driver not installed. The vboxdrv kernel module was either not loaded or /dev/vboxdrv was not created for some reason. Re-setup the kernel module by executing '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' as root. VBox status code: -1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED). Y no existe /etc/init.d/vboxdrv. -- Saludos. HP Compaq nx9420 OpenSuSE 10.3

He visto que está en los repositorios "vmx-manager", pero no sé muy bien qué hace; además, cuando intento instalarlo me dice que, por dependencias, tengo que instalar un montón de cosas del Gnome, creo que prácticamente todo el Gnome básico. La información del YAST es, como siempre, casi nula, sólo dice: "vmx-manager allows you to create, configure, and manage VMware virtual machines. " Yo tengo creadas máquinas virtuales con vmware ¿Esto sirve para configurar y ejecutar esas máquinas? Instalé el vmware-player 2.01, pero no va muy bien con esta versión de OpenSuSE (10.3) y cuando despliego los menús de la barra de vmware-player en una máquina virtual hace cosas raras el vídeo. Estaba pensando en instalar vmware-workstation para ver cómo va. ¿Alguien tiene instalado este programa "vmx-manager" y me puede decir qué hace y si funciona bien (Es la versión 0.2.8?
