Question regarding cdn and mirror

Hi mirror list, As we already know, openSUSE implements cdn now. Could someone explain to me what the impact of the implementation is to our mirror? AFAIK cdn will maintain the newest copy from one legitimate source, I imagine this would be the mirror in openSUSE infrastructure. If it is the case anyone will use the closest cdn rather than the mirror. My understanding might be wrong. Looking at the statistics in the mirror that I manage the traffic is still high, most likely the TX amount is more than 100GB daily, sometimes more than 200GB. Thousand daily hits and hundred visitors. Anyone see the significant traffic difference before and after the cdn implementation? Thanks! -- Edwin (repo.opensuse.id; twrepo.opensuse.id)

Looks like rsync.opensuse.org has not been updated in a couple of days? Compared to download.opensuse.org - at least for tumbleweed? -- "The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." - St. Augustine.

Leap 15.5 GM build is already available for sync

Hello team, we've just published the Leap 15.5 Gold Master to the download-o-o prod + stage. We've started to decouple image availability and marketing annoucement in Leap 15.3 as part of release retrospective after identifying some issues with availability on mirrors. The only difference is that I will change current and latest symlinks only on Wednesday. The marketing annoucement of the new Leap 15.5 release is happening next Wednesday 12:00 UTC on June 7th. I use uyuni to sync opensuse repos and a collegue is also trying to update an OpenSuse server today. They are both failing with similar messages. FYI Novell Hungary http://ftp.novell.hu/pub/mirrors/ftp.opensuse.org/opensuse has been unreachable for quite a long time (perhaps more than a year now) and FSN.hu ftp.fsn.hu/pub/linux/distributions/opensuse will cease its operation on the first of May 2023. d.o.o slow downloads, curl errors

Hello everyone! Are there any issues with download.opensuse.org? Besides being quite slow I am getting the following error (multiple times with different packages and repositories such as TW oss, hw): - Download (curl) error for 'https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/ hardware/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/x86_64/bolt-0.9.5-22.7.x86_64.rpm': Error code: Curl error 92 Error message: HTTP/2 stream 0 was not closed cleanly: PROTOCOL_ERROR (err 1) Will try again... [openSUSE Tracker] Issue #125615 has been updated by avicenzi. Assignee set to andriinikitin Hi Ariel, My theory is that we now have many mirrors in South America, more precisely, in Brazil. The requests are sent to the closest mirror based on distance (lat/long) from IPs, so, as Brazil is the biggest country and has the most openSUSE users, requests are not leaving the country that easily. The south of Brazil is now covered by a mirror in Porto Alegre (RS) and Florianópolis (SC) before these users could go to São Paulo or even Uruguay. This leaves your mirror for most likely Uruguayan users and depending on the freshness of the data, users can still be sent somewhere else (RS, SC, or SP in Brazil due to distance) in case the files are not found in your mirror. I also noticed that many users are on Tumbleweed in SA, and your mirror is red because the data is not fresh. To solve that you should sync more frequently, maybe every 2h or even a shorter period. This is just a theory for now, but Andrii may be able to dig some metrics from our servers.
