I don't think it makes sense to mirror everything. Many files are see so
little traffic that mirroring them costs way too much. And now I'm really
puzzled what your intention is - you strarted the thread with "remove all
mirrors" and now you want even more stuff noone downloads?

Dear mirror admins,
As you might have heard by now, 3 months from now, from September 11 to
September 14 the openSUSE conference 2011 will take place in Nuremberg.
This year our focus is very much on getting things done and making decisions.
We would be delighted if some of you would be able to show up and take part in
the discussions!
Moreover, we're also looking for sponsors. If you know anyone or are
interested, you can find our sponsorship brochure here:

Thank you for your continued support and who knows, maybe see you at oSC 2011!

Hi,
We would like to sync with stage over IPv6. Could you allow our server 'mirror.nl.leaseweb.net'?
Our IPv6 address is 2001:1af8:4030:1:0:dead:beef:café

Hey,
I have a request from a mirror admin team to do something about the
traffic on this list (digests, announce list or something) and I must
say that I tend to agree. This list was initially setup to broadcast
important stuff and has turned into a list where everything about
mirrors is discussed. I think it's time to move this content to some
other place and use this list for the initial purpose again. I would
propose opensuse-mirrors(a)opensuse.org as list to discuss mirror
problems, additions, strategies etc. and keep mirror(a)opensuse.org as the
one address to send stuff to bother all mirror admins with. Opinions?
Henne
p.s. I'm very well aware of the sweet irony of me starting to discuss
this here ;-) Sorry, bear with us for a minute...

Hello,
We just replaced our mirror server and sync requests will now come from '94.75.223.121' instead of '94.75.223.123'.
Please allow this IP to sync from 'stage.opensuse.org' and update the repositories push address.
As we now also have a mirror server in Germany and will install a server in the USA shortly, the new hostname of this
machine will be 'mirror.nl.leaseweb.net', a CNAME record for mirror.leaseweb.com has been created and the bandwidth
has been upgraded from 2GE to 4GE.
Kind Regards,

Since a few weeks I cannot see our mirror in the mirrorlist any longer:
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.4/iso/openSUSE-11.4-DVD-x86_64…
any reason why mirror.hs-esslingen.de is missing?

Hello,
I noticed that mirror.rackspace.com is listed on the website, we also
have mirror.rackspace.co.uk and mirror.rackspace.hk available for use.
As it stands only mirror.rackspace.com offers http, ftp, and rsync. Our
London and Hong Kong mirrors are currently only serving requests via
http. I will look into adding atleast ftp and possibly rsync in the future.

Matt Luettgen
