I don't think it makes sense to mirror everything. Many files are see so
little traffic that mirroring them costs way too much. And now I'm really
puzzled what your intention is - you strarted the thread with "remove all
mirrors" and now you want even more stuff noone downloads?

Hi,
It has been on our TODO list for quite some time, but only recently we
found the time to implement an algorithm that will provide you with
a rsync module of the hottest 160GB on download.opensuse.org
While we always had a hotstuff-160GB rsync module, it was neither 160G
nor always hot - it was always best guess and very often wrong.
Now that we have the algorithm, we can update the rsync module daily
to a) switch to latest trendy repos and b) stay in 160G no matter what.
But we can offer more and I wonder what rsync sizes are interesting for
you. Smaller sizes or larger ones? So far we have 30, 80 and 160 - while
only 80 and 160 are used.
E.g. is 300, 500, 1000, 2000 of any interest? Please let us know. It's
fine if you reply only to me and Alberto.
BTW: would it also be interesting to you if you'd offer a rsync module
that is without size limit, but has e.g. 95, 98, 99, 99.5% of the hits?
Right now most of our download hits are indeed in less than 100G, so if
you want to optimize for traffic, this sounds like a good approach.
Thanks, Stephan

Upgrading from 12.1/KDE 4.9.x to 12.2/KDE 4.10.5 via zypper failed variously
in the wee hours this AM. Now fresh HTTP installation is failing with
$SUBJECT, and attempting to proceed anyway fails wanting a repo URL that
actually works. I tried mirrors.us.kernel.org, mirrors.opensuse.org and
widehat.opensuse.org with equal failures.
Next I tried using the x86_64 12.2 DVD iso copied to a NTFS partition's /
using the install=hd:/*iso syntax shown on
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Linuxrc but even though Linuxrc finds the iso
file, it claims "no repository found" and so fails to proceed.
Finally I got a NFS installation from iso going, but I have my doubts about
viability of updating to 4.10.5, if anything, given the SHA1 problem.

My rsync command is

Should I be doing something differently?
Thanks,

Hi,
I opened up the o+r permissions on the 13.1/iso directory, so the
mirrors open up too. The release will be today at 1200 UTC.
Greetings, Stephan
