I don't think it makes sense to mirror everything. Many files are see so
little traffic that mirroring them costs way too much. And now I'm really
puzzled what your intention is - you strarted the thread with "remove all
mirrors" and now you want even more stuff noone downloads?

I see that *Factory* is excluded for your mirror, that explains a good share
of what I see as it matches the project name - one of the most busy ones
actually.

That's the _current_ status, not the one the user saw.
If you could find out a pattern of files that is causing a lot of rsync
traffic, but few http traffic, we can easily add this to the exclude pattern.
I can imagine e.g. home:/ having a bad ratio.
If you have no time for that, perhaps you dig out a the http traffic logs for
a given day (weekday preferred), so I can match it against the repos pushed to
you.
I can also offer that we offer a push mode only containing popular software
gathered from our redirect logs. That should increase your http/rsync ratio
too :)

We're changing our IP from 200.17.202.1 to 200.236.36.1. Please give
access to both of them to stage. We'll stop using the first when it's
ttl expires but for now we must keep it configured in the machine.

Hi All
We've been looking at our recent mirror utilisation recently and have
noticed that less than 25% of our usage is from Australia.
This is a problem for us because international transit is significantly
more expensive than internal transit/peering and has contributed to the
operating costs of our mirror being more than budgeted.
For this reason, is it possible to change the scope on our mirror
(opensuse.mirror.aussiehq.net.au) so that only Australian and New Zealand
users are automatically redirected to it? Other countries should be sent
to their closest mirror.
Thanks,
Shaun

I'd like to thank you for beeing part of the 11.4 launch and would be
interested to get some numbers on how it went if you have some!

Hi,
For the mirrors we push the repositories on there is a problem:
we do not push deletes due the way the whole process works.
For this I consider doing a weekly full sync of the full repositories
tree. What would be a good time for doing that? Is the weekend
for everyone ok or should we do different times per mirror?

Hi, im running a local repository at work and i just realized that
some directories are empty. I have no files under
/distribution/11.3/repo/ nor 11.2, and we have a lot of servers
running these OpenSuSE versions.
Im using opensuse-hotstuff-160gb module (rsync -rlpt
rsync.opensuse.org::opensuse-hotstuff-160gb
/srv/sites/opensuse.unc.edu.ar/ --delete-after -hi --stats), have you
erased those directories from that module? Should i start using
opensuse-full? thanks

Hi,
As I had to fix the repo tree, I synced again and for some
reason made the mistake to make the iso directory public.
I can't really take that back now as it will cause some mirrors
(those syncing from rsync.o.o) to pull the ISOs twice, but
you should know: if you're afraid of the load, please flip
back the bit manually till tomorrow.
Sorry for the trouble, I had prefered not touching the 11.4
tree, but the bug was pretty severe ;(

Hi,
Just so you know: we put up the 11.4 seeder - a bit early, but at least
one check box to mark :)
I count 28 seeders, some known mirrors, but the rest unknown IPs.
I wouldn't mind if we have another 100, but I don't want to have the
torrents public - no perfect solution available ;)
