Ein schönes Wochenende alle zusammen, nachdem openSUSE 11.1 gestern veröffentlicht wurde, möchte ich mich nochmal ganz herzlich für die geleistete Arbeit bedanken :) Nachdem der Stringfreeze bei openSUSE immer eine etwas wachsweich ist und Aktualisierungen für die Übersetzungen angeboten wurden, darf also noch weiter übersetzt und gefeilt werden. ;-) Für eine einheitlichere und konsistentere Übersetzung wollten wir uns an einen Leitfaden machen, ich hab im Novell-Wiki mal eine Seite angefangen[0], die bisher hauptsächlich mal die Punkte von Jannick nochmal zusammen fasst. There are quite a lot of typos and grammar errors or just wrong translations. I maintain the translation of KNetworkmanager branch in the KDE svn, so I merged this older translation to the SUSE template and proof read the remaining strings of SUSE's translation. My new translation should be at least better than the current one. Some problems or awkward translations I noted in many recent SUSE translations: 1. The use of the first person for almost every phrase - present participle, infinitive constructions and commands ("Benutze", "Lade" "Kopiere" etc.) Some sound bad, others are just wrong. The german translation guidelines of KDE, Gnome and Ubuntu definitvly say that first person constructions should never be used in translations. 2. At least KDE uses a space between a word and "..." (xyz wird geladen ...) because it is - although uncommon - the only correct version. I think we should use this correct version for all SUSE translations, but at least for the KDE related ones to avoid a mix of the two styles. Dass "booten" generell eine passende Übersetzung für das englische Verb "(to) boot" ist, ist hier unstrittig. Problematisch ist die grammatikalische Form "Boote". 1. "Boote" kann als 1. Person Singular im Sinne von "(Ich, Dein lieber Computer,) boote" verstanden werden. Das wäre eine inkorrekte und stilistisch schlechte Übersetzung, weil Programme nach allen gängigen Leitlinien nicht von sich in der 1. Person sprechen sollen. 2. "Boote" kann als Imperativ der 2. Person Singular verstanden werden: "Boote (jetzt, Du alter Esel)". Das ist nicht nur sachlich praktisch immer falsch, sondern auch stilistisch schlecht, weil Programme Ihre Benutzer ganz sicher nicht "duzen" sollten. Folgende Übersetzungen wären korrekt: 1. "(to) boot" --> "booten" Beispiel: "Boot the installed system" --> Das installierte System booten INFINITIV! 2. "Booting" --> "Bootvorgang" oder "Bootvorgang läuft" oder "Das System wird gebootet" VERLAUFSFORM! Letztere sind manchmal ein bisschen schwierig zu übersetzten, da es in der deutschen Sprache die Verlaufsform "-ing" nicht so wie z.B. im Englischen oder Spanischen gibt. Man muss sich daher mit einer Substantivierung, ggf. in Kombination mit einem den Verlauf anzeigenden Verb (Installation läuft, Suche läuft), oder _wann immer möglich_ mit einer Passivkonstruktion "Es wird nach neuen Aktualisierungen gesucht" behelfen. Gerne auch ein bisschen freier (aber sachlich korrekt!) übersetzt. An dieser Stelle ist sicherlich "Bootvorgang" die korrektere Übersetzung. Wie aber auch in diesem Bugreport angesprochen, gibt es noch viele ähnliche Konstruktionen, die wir Schritt für Schritt ausbessern sollten: Installiere Exportiere/Importiere Füge hinzu Bearbeite Konfiguriere Richte ein Erstelle u.v.m Eigentlich wären die in jedem Zusammenhang falsch. Oben steht Partitionierung, darunter die Liste der Partitionen, danach kommt dann irgendwann der Abschnitt "Boote" mit den Einstellungen für GRUB darunter. Boote ist als Überschrift für diesen Abschnitt falsch. Für mich war bis vor kurzem auch "Boote" möglich und theoretisch ist es das immernoch, da hier auf einen Vorgang hingedeutet wird, aus Sicht des Computers. Wir hatten vor kurzem eine kleine Diskussion in der Mailing-Liste zu diesem Thema, als es um den Stilleitfaden ging. Ein Ausschnitt: >1. Schon vor der zitierten Diskussion wurde mir bewusst, dass es eleganter und deutlicher ist. "Boote" (der Imperativ) ist falsch, das wäre im Englischen "boot!". Bootvorgang ist IMHO immer noch die eindeutigste Variante. Was alles geht und mittlerweile "geläufig" ist interessiert eigentlich nicht, da es um die eindeutigste und nicht die "ist auch möglich" Übersetzung geht. Die Dinge wie "Partitionieren" etc. waren lediglich dazu gedacht klar zu machen, dass bei den Überschriften noch nichtmal ein System vorhanden ist, d.h. wenn man die Form "Boote" nähme, dann müsste es auch "Installiere" oder "Partitioniere" heißen. Im Moment steht da aber mal ein Verb und mal ein Nomen. Dazu dann noch ein Denglisch Verb, das im Deutschen ein Nomen ist. Hin und wieder kann es somit auch Änderungen an Zeichenketten geben, die dem Nutzer bekannt sind. Es geht hier nicht etwa um die Generelle Übersetzung von Boot, sondern speziell um den Eintrag bei der Zusammenfassung? :-) Da finde ich Schiffchen in der Tat ebenfalls unangebracht. Warum das geändert wurde ist ne gute Frage, kann ich mal nachrecherchieren, vermutlich aber weil im Original irgendwas(warum auch immer) geändert wurde, was dann bei uns eine sog. "Fuzzy" Meldung hervorruft, oft neigt man dazu (da bei uns leider noch kein Vergleich zur alten Meldung durchgeführt wird) dieses dann automatisch als falsch anzusehen ("aha, da hat jemand nen Fehler gemeldet, also soll da was geändert werden") und krampfhaft nach einer neuen Übersetzung zu suchen ;) Kann mir nochmal jemand genau sagen wo dieser String sein soll? In anbetracht der Tatsache, dass "Boot" nicht gerade ein typisch deutsches Wort ist, wenn man mal das Gefährt auf dem Wasser sich wegdenkt, finde ich die Übersetzung "Boote" überhaupt nicht gelungen. Ich würde für die frühere Begrifflichkeit plädieren - oder gab es ein gravierendes Argument dagegen, weshalb das geändert wurde? Übersetzungen aus dem englischen können bzw. müssen nicht immer 1:1 dem Original entsprechend bzw. manchmal sollte man lieber das englische übernehmen. Das Wort "Startvorgang" find ich hier auch nicht wirklich angebracht. (Tut es das?) Wir sprechen im Deutschen mittlerweile auch vom Bootvorgang, Bootloader oder Bootmanager, d.h. liegt es für mich nahe auch vom Booten (als Vorgang) zu sprechen). Teekesselchen sind in der Deutschen Sprache keine Seltenheit ;) Auf der einen Seite würde das bedeuten, dass wenn wir Booten in etwas wie "Starten" ändern würden, wir das andere Konsequent mitändern müssten. Sonst würde man sich (zurecht) über Inkonsistenz beschweren. Auf der anderen Seite würden sich dann die sog. "Power-User" beschweren was für schwammige Bezeichnungen das wieder sind (verglichen mit anderen Projekten versuchen wir ziemlich viel ins Deutsche zu übersetzten). Falls gewünscht könnte man das aber öffentlichen zur Diskussion machen und abstimmen lassen ;) Dazu müsste man aber erstmal entsprechende Übersetzungen finden: Bootvorgang -> Startvorgang Bootloader -> ? Bootmanager -> Startverwalter (?) Multi-Boot -> Mehrstart(-System) (?)
