SuSE 8.2 Kernel k_smp 2.4.20 patch 102 no quota?

Hi! I get this after installing newer kernel and after wanting to enable quotas on our home patition: Failed to turn on quotas : quotaon: using /home/aquota.user on /dev/sda5 [/home]: No such process quotaon: Quota format not supported in kernel. This means no quota with smp-kernel. In the installation of quota I read suse has enabled quota as default. So why is there no quota enabled? Philippe

I notice that SLES 8 is not listed as vulnerable to the do_mremap() vulnerability, and that there's no update. Does this mean that the kernel which came with SP3 in early November was already patched with this? I just double checked, and updates for SLES8-i386 are indeed available from the maintenance web at http://portal.suse.com/psdb/SuSE-Linux-Enterprise-Server-8-for-x86.html (Don't be fooled by the date which says Dec 2003). Updates for sles8-ppc are available as well, and notification mails should have been sent to all registered maintenance customers. Updates for other architectures and sles7 are in the pipeline but need to pass QA first. edquota warning after kernel upgrade

After applying the most recent kernel upgrade (2.4.21-168), I notice that the edquota command displays the following: "WARNING - Kernel quota is newer than supported. Quotafile used by utils need not be the one used by kernel." WPA und Linux (SuSE9.0)

Hallo allerseits und ein Gesundes Neues, Ich habe die Ferienzeit genutzt und ein wenig gebastelt, unter anderem habe ich festgestellt, dass mein Wireless-AP auch WPA anstatt WEP zur Absicherung kann. Leider fehlen mir dazu ein paar Basisinfos, die ich mir wohl noch besorgen muss. Wichtiger wäre mir aber, was ich zur Nutzung von WPA unter Linux tun muss und ob dies mit meinen alten Tekram-Karten (Prism 2.5) überhaupt geht. Kann mir da jemand helfen? Danke Thomas
