I've a problem with my cmake openCOLLADA build when using multiple jobs, one lib wants to link to another that hasn't finished building/linking yet. Being a hacker at heart I'm trying to add this to the CMakeLists.txt of the lib that can't find the other : find_package(lib/libOpenCOLLADABaseUtils) WHILE(libOpenCOLLADABaseUtils_FOUND) I'm still going over commands and syntax, I don't know how to invert "libOpenCOLLADABaseUtils_FOUND" yet or if this method will even work. openCOLLADA takes a long time to build and if I build it on my system one of the libs hogs my system to the point of it freezing for at least 20 minutes, so I can only do this and go away for a while and come back to find that it's failed. [opensuse-programming] using performance counters?

Hello I'm trying to optimize some assembler code for which I'm measuring runtime over a <slice of data>. Is there any easy (in C or assembler ) access to counters for pipeline stalls and cache misses available? [opensuse-programming] signal handling in bad threaded libraries

I am using a library that starts lots of threads. It is a proprietary lib and there is no choice as it talks to some company's fancy schmancy hardware. The problem I have is that, it seems (strace is great), this library does not set it up so the threads it creates will not receive signals. In my own much-better-behaved-if-I-do-say-so code, I use pthread_sigmask in the created thread to say that I do not want various signals. Since I see my SIGIO signal delivered to both my thread (really the original process not a thread) or any of the threads created in the library, I think this is what is happening. My question is: how can I turn off delivery of signals to threads I did not create? I basically need to try to do for the threads what they did not do themselves. Add to that: how can a process find out what threads there are? I would imagine that if signal fiddling is even possible, I may need to know this as well.
