Hi, I'm trying to learn glade. autogen.sh failed on my first try; giving the error below: ./configure: line 4068: syntax error near unexpected token `PACKAGE,' ./configure: line 4068: `PKG_CHECK_MODULES(PACKAGE, $pkg_modules)' Then i learned that i had to install pkgconfig; i did so; but this time autogen gave the following error: checking for gtk+-2.0 >= 2.0.0... Package gtk+-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gtk+-2.0.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'gtk+-2.0' found configure: error: Library requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 2.0.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them. How do i have to set PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable? Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to compile my first python program (rdiff-backup). I seem to be missing the python config dir. How do I create that? Php 4.3.0 & pdflib

Anyone upgrade to php 4.3.0 with pdflib (SuSE 8.1)? I'm currently with the stock 4.2.2 & no pdflib support. Trying to compile the php source, but with everything from the install as binary packages I'm trying to figure out what's not present (apxs for example). socket/select differences between glibc 2.1 and 2.2

Hi, Can anyone please explain the following behaviour. Consider the following: int main( int argc, char **argv ) { int s; fd_set dread; fd_set dwrite; struct timeval to; to.tv_sec = 3; to.tv_usec = 0; s = socket( AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 0 ); FD_ZERO(&dread); FD_ZERO(&dwrite); FD_SET(s, &dread); if (select(s + 1, &dread, &dwrite, (fd_set *) 0, &to) < 0) { fprintf(stderr, "Error in select(): errno=%d\n", errno); return errno; } return 0; } On a (Suse i386 linux) glibc-2.1.3-27 machine this blocks for the timeout of 3 seconds and the 'dread' fd_set is cleared and the select returns 0. On a (Suse i386 linux) glibc-2.2.2-67 machine this returns immediately and the 'dread' fd_set is left untouched and the select returns a value of 1. The program above is a toy that reproduces my problem, while calling select immediately on 's' may not be a meaningful thing to do, I just want to know what the correct semantics are and why they have changed.
