Hi,
Christian has tested the wiki setup and found dependencies with the
server hermes. There is a hermes extensio which is broken (probably
since years). It sends out only empty emails.
@Theo: Can you support us? ;-)
Thanks!
Have a nice weekend and best regards,
Sarah

Dear openSUSE heroes
we have got a wiki meeting today at 16:00. Christian and Sarah
discussed about the setup.
The result:
- mediawiki 1.27 is running op openSUSE Leap 42.2 without problems.
- Christian will package mediawiki.
- We have got technical problems with the openSUSE skinning.
- Christian has got the database dump without problems.
- Results of Micah are better and faster now.
- There are dependencies with Hermes and other systems.
- We have to wait for the hardware.
I haven't got permissions for starting a meeting session on IRC. I used
plan B with creating a log file via Konversation. The log is attached.
Have a nice weekend.
Best regards,
Sarah
Hi
Just in case someone wonders about mails to webmaster(a)opensuse.org
ending up in the ticket system: I changed the alias for the following
Email addresses to point the admin(a)opensuse.org mail instead of mine:
* webmaster
* abuse
* hostmaster
* postmaster
Just if you wonder: Most of the time, people there are asking questions
about RPMs on download.opensuse.org that are not there any more, because
OBS did a rebuild... (maybe we should add some information about this
somewhere - but I did not found a proper location for this information
yet)
With kind regards,
Lars

Dear openSUSE heroes
I am happy to see our team growing. So I have to explain for all new
people how our team arose:
In the last months we have got a lot of wiki spam and there have been
problems with a admin in Provo. Many of our servers are hosted there.
The result was a meeting at the openSUSE conference:
https://news.opensuse.org/2016/07/25/introducing-opensuse-heroes/
The mailing list was created and our wiki project is going on...
First hardware arrived (not all) and we have to plan the next steps.
We should have a meeting via IRC (opensuse-admin).
How about doing it next Saturday at 4:00 PM?
Is the time ok for you?
All new openSUSE heroes who want to contribute to our wiki setup are
welcome, too!
Best regards,
Sarah

Hi Lars
yes, I saw that one yesterday.
Let me try to ask some semi-intelligent questions -
all mails for @opensuse.org are received by mx2.suse.de, where I presume
anything addressed to LISTNAME(a)opensuse.org is forwarded (by way of a
virtual mapping) to lists4 or lists5, the mailing list servers. For
archived lists, a copy is sent to lists.opensuse.org, which is the
webserver with the list archives.
lists4 and lists5 - are these copies or master/slave or ?
I studied the brief procedure for adding a new list -
I can see "lists[45].opensuse.org", but not "baloo.opensuse.org" ?
I can't find "gitlab.suse.de" either.
thanks

I was looking into the email routing, when I stumbled over this little
issue -

That's just not a proper DNS setup. It's not really important when it's
not a mailserver or doesn't use TLS, but a reverse map should only have
_one_ result.

I also volunteered to help out with the technical side of mailing list
admin - I run a number mailman lists, and consider myself very well
versed in email and list admin.
As an intro, these ought to suffice:
