[opensuse-arm] New package for ARM: raspberrypi-firmware

Hello, I have submitted the raspberrypi-firmware package for inclusion in Factory: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/341314 This package contains VideoCore IV binaries that are read from a FAT partition by the Raspberry Pi boot ROM. Without these files neither the ARM U-Boot bootloader nor an ARM kernel can be booted on that device. It is not really needed on x86 systems, so as alternative we could submit it to openSUSE:Factory:ARM instead. However, since in the past some non-free binaries snuck into this package (disguised as SUSE-Firmware instead of SUSE-NonFree license and probably without obtaining permission first), I think it makes sense to have it go through the full legal review process of openSUSE:Factory. Similarly, I would like to split out arndale-bl1.img from u-boot package as arndale-firmware (a signed version of GPL'ed U-Boot Secondary Program Loader) and to submit odroid{,xu}-firmware at some point, possibly more. This will allow us to build JeOS images for boards with upstream U-Boot and upstream kernel support centrally in openSUSE:Factory:ARM rather than in some Contrib project. In particular my intent here is to drop the devel:ARM:Factory:Contrib:RaspberryPi:upstream project in favor of openSUSE:Factory:ARM. [opensuse-arm] no usb on olinuxino micro /lime2 after upgrade to tumbleweed

Dear all, after upgrading from kernel 4.1.3-2 to 4.3.0-2 (tumbleweed) usb devices are not longer detected. This happened on an olinuxiono lime2. A fresh install of the tumbleweed image (build 353.1) on an olinuxino mirco shows the same behavior. I tested the latest released Tumbleweed image for the Raspberry Pi 2B, Build354.2 which shows a black screen and does not boot at all, same as the latest one from Staging, which is from a few days back. Currently there are no working Tumbleweed images for any of the Raspberry Pi systems. I have Tumbleweed systems running on both RPi1 and RPi2 started from a working image, some month ago, on which I am still able to update these to the latest version of Tumbleweed from the repository. Hi, in my Hackweek project[1] I tested Orange Pi PC board[2] with openSUSE. This is what I found: There is Tumbleweed image with downstream kernel 3.4.39 [3] - it works with problems, I hit some incompatible IOCTL in V4L2 driver and kernel firmware loading does not work - the kernel can be recompiled from these sources [4] Adding support to mainline is in progress: - U-boot 2016.01-rc2 can boot - I recompiled Tumbleweed kernel with patches from lkml[5]. It boots with gpio and mmc card working. [opensuse-arm] Udoo Quad (IMX6Q) hangs at kernel boot

Hi, I'm trying to boot my udoo-quad (it's very similar to the cubox-i that we already support) using u-boot and kernel from mainline. Although it boots the kernel fine, it hangs somewhere in the middle without any error. The hang is not always in the same point, sometimes is goes further while others not. Using the same u-boot but with a downstream kernel works fine, so u-boot is not the problem here. Any idea? [opensuse-arm] No USB keyboard in Cubietruck

Thanks to Andreas Färber, we have openSUSE running in our Cubietruck now. It works nicely with the serial cable, but it does not recognize any USB keyboard. Keyboard works perfectly with Cubian. Any clue? You need an image for the Raspberry Pi 2, which you can find on http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/ARM:/Factory:/Contrib:/Ras… or http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/ARM:/Factory:/Contrib:/Ras… I only worked with JeOS iages. AFAIK both work and are in fact openSUSE Tumbleweed systems. I have manage to get the ARM port to work on a Raspberry B but have been unable to get it working on my new Pi 2. Can someone point me to a download that works for this. I have downloaded several .RAW files but none work. I am using SD Image Writer to make the SD card. Is that correct? [opensuse-arm] Tumbleweed fails to boot in a Cubietruck

I recently bought a Cubietruck and tried to load this openSUSE TW image http://download.opensuse.org/ports/armv7hl/tumbleweed/images/openSUSE-Tumbl… The system fails to boot. First it shows "file not found dtb/sun7i-a20-cubietruck-dtb". Then it continue trying to init Ramdisk and finally gives the error "Did not find a cmdline Flattened Device Tree", throwing me to the U-Boot menu. Here you are the full sequence (image). http://paste.opensuse.org/98698761 On top of all that, the keyboard does not work in U-Boot if a SATA hard disk is plugged in. Disconnecting the disk does not change the errors above. Any hint?
