Hi,
the image openSUSE-13.1-ARM-JeOS-chromebook.armv7l-1.12.1-Build15.1 from
[1] is broken. It does not even show a bootloader prompt or something, the
Chromebook just falls back to the white screen (the one that expects
Ctrl-U to boot from SD).
Something I could try?

Hi,
today I tried upgrading openSUSE on my tablet (Tegra2) from 12.3 to 13.1 and I
ended up with invalid instruction errors just after update of glibc. My guess
is that glibc was compiled with neon support enabled. Was there any decision to
drop non-neon devices or is it simply a bug? Is it just glibc that has neon
enabled or everything? I know that for 32bits we have two glibc packages, maybe
something similar would be possible for armv7?

Hi Dirk,
Hi Alex,
My patches are accepted in openSUSE GIT kernel repo so, we can get kernel update from Kernel:openSUSE-13.1 project to 13.1:Ports.
Could you do it, please, since I have not the rights to proceed?

Hi,
I'm looking for a small inexpensive ARM board that has a few digital
inputs (for buttons/switches) and a few digital outputs (for LEDs). Fast
USB 2.0 or even 3.0 ports would be good to have too. It's meant to be
headless, so gfx doesn't matter. It should obviously run openSUSE :-)
Are there any recommendations?

Hi all,
OpenSUSE 13.1 for PC just came out. I understood that there will be an armv7 version. Is that correct? And if so, when and where can I find it?
What is the (preferably easy) way to upgrade my existing 12.3 to 13.1 (by not reinstalling everything)?
Thanks. --

Thank you for your helpful replies. I was able to get both midori and
chromium working on my chromebook.
I am wondering what level of commitment there is (resources
especially) to make openSUSE a real working system for the general
linux user. I can't help but compare what we have now with Chrubuntu
which is fully fleshed out with applications. I would love to help,
but I am a somewhat outdated computer scientist (rusty at low-level
programming) recently retired but keeping up with linux as best I can.
I have used openSUSE on my desktop for years and like it.
I wish success in your endeavors and will follow your progress with interest.
Thanks again,
Bob Bernstein

Hi Marcus,
now OBS is able to build our Raspberry Pi image, I tested again Raspberry Pi image and it still does not boot due to FAT partition problem. I thought you fixed it, but apparently not. (using kiwi 5.05.44 in 13.1:Ports).
If I resize FAT partition with YaST partitionner from 200 MB to 196 MB or less, it does boot.
Moreover, raspberrypi-firmware package has bootinclude flag set to true but files ending with *.dat are missing from BOOT partition. Is there any filter for such a file?

Hi Dirk,
Hi Alex,
kiwi in 13.1:Ports needs to be updated since it does not copy DTB files which are in /boot/dtb/ folder.
Could you copypac latest kiwi to 13.1:Ports, please?

I hope that this mailing list is appropriate for my question. If not,
I apologize for the bother.
I have successfully installed openSUSE 12.3 on my Samsung Series 3 ARM
Chromebook. However, I cannot find the many applications that one
would expect in an openSUSE release, for example mozilla firefox, or
libreoffice. I have explored the urls around
http://download.opensuse.org/ports/armv7hl/distribution/12.3/
and have "googled" extensively, but could not find complete
applications of the type I am seeking. Is it expected that one must
locate source code for these applications and build them for oneself
or are there repositories already in existence that I simply could not
find?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Bob Bernstein
