Hai, I'm a new comer 'n i've just registered to this milis today. I really2 need u're help for my study. My supervisor ask me to install a NIDS with snort, BASE, 'n sguil. AppArmor in SUSE 10.0

Hello, if I understood it correctly the AppArmor version 1.2 of SUSE 10.0 does not allow to create new profiles with the Add Profile Wizard. But when I played with it I found out the command line tool "genprof" actually does allow to generate a new profile and genprof is nothing else than the Yast Wizard, is this right? So I actually can add a new profile using genprof, but just not using the Yast Wizard? BTW, are there Novell/OpenSUSE sites that offer new profiles for download? Thanks Malte

Hello List, the last update for libtiff for suse 9.3 seems not to be available on https://you.novell.com/update <https://you.novell.com/update> . I expected version libtiff-3.7.1-7.4.i586.rpm but when i sync to you.novell.com via rcmirror (redcarpet/zlm) there seems to be only version libtiff-3.7.1-7.2.i586.rpm available. Do you know how to browse https://you.novell.com/update <https://you.novell.com/update> with a webbrowser to see what is available there? Does someone know the subdirectory on the server to the suse 9.3 updates? regards Frank

Is there a 'A' record in DNS for server A as well as a reverse lookup entry? What happens if you try to ssh by IP address or put the IP address in your /etc/hosts file on B? Is there a software firewall on A that does not allow ssh connections? I'm assuming of course that you already have an ssh server up and running on A. P.S. SSH problems (from the beginning)

I have 2 machines, one with CentOs4.3 (A) the other with WhiteBox 4(B). The machine A have a new installtion, the machine B has an already exists installation. The machine A has the installytion as is (except tah i choose an IP adress for eth0) 200.118.115.241 from the graphical interface on Hosts Label The machine B has eth0 and eth1, it works as proxy i can connect by ssh from A to B i can ping B from A i can not connect by ssh from B to A i can`t ping A from B if i do NSLOOKUP in A the reponse is Server inexistent What im doing bad? ----------------------------------------------------------- Sign up and get your 30GB webmail at www.30gigs.com now!
