I was wondering if MySQL 4.0 shipped with SuSE 9.2 pro has InnoDB tables compiled with it? If not, on the next security update, would it be possible to compile MySQL with InnoDB table support please. TIA - Keith Roberts

Audit Logging Question (Resend - mail problem)

Hi, I'm using SUSE 9.2 and need to track user logins - logouts, root login - logout, and bad user logins. The user logins-logouts and root login-logouts are being written to /var/log/messages (pam-unix2). However, the bad login attempts are not being recorded. I've activated the "Record failed login attempts" in Yast with no success. I've also tried the faillog utility, again with no success. I've tried defining /var/log/btmp and using lastb to read that file, again with no success. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, it seems to me that bad login attempts are not being recorded by Suse 9.2. I'd like to know where bad logins are supposed to be recorded in Suse 9.2 and what needs to be set to record bad logins (I get the feeling that a parameter in some configuration file is not set properly). I assume that people on this list monitor bad logins. How is it being done? Thanks in advance. Bill Arcieri

This only works on bash 3.0+. Solved the problem inserting HISTTIMEFORMAT="%F %T " to the file /etc/bash.bashrc.local. Tested the history overight problem and it works fine now. Thanks for the tip. History accounting

Hi, What do I have to do to have all the history saved with a timestamp? The 2 problems that I have at the moment are: - I can not see when the user x did a certain command. - If user x has 2 or more sessions, the history isn't saved for most of the sessions (last session saves over the other ones?) tsig verify failure on zone transfer

I configured Bind to use signatures for zone tranfer. I added the needed info on both the master and slave, even cut and pasted the key to make sure I'm not misspelling it. No luck. Both servers use NTP and are configured for the same source. Any clues what more to check? Petteri
