Nagios versus Snort

Can someone tell me the difference between Nagios and Snort? Which one does the best job in monitoring Networks? Thanks, Bruno

From then on, i use a regular user, but with administration rights, though (company policy). Administrator user can launch X server, but not any other user (at this point, i really miss the su - linux capability). When i launch the startx command, this is what i get (in a popup window): A fatal error has occurred and Cygwin/X will now exit. Please open /tmp/XWin.log for more information. pthread library in SLES9

Hi I am running Opera 8.5 on SLES9 SP2 . Whenever Opera tries to open some java coded page , it will die immediately and throw a error message " ERROR: Could not find the pthread library (2). Are you running a supported Linux distribution? " . Can anyone tell me what is the cause for this problem ? Thanks & Regards, Shashi Kanth

Hi, When trying to start the YaST2 User/Group Manager it complained that there were multiple uses of the same group id. In my case it was mysql and messagebus that conflicted. Fixing that and retrying it also complained about multiple uses of the same user id... dhcp and messagebus Doesn't messagebus install check if uid/gid is already taken? I do not think that I myself caused this problems, but I guess that this might be security related. /RogerL

Problem with latest Opera update
