turning off ipv6 in Suse 7.2

hi list, i would like to know how to disable ipv6 on my networkcard on SuSE Linux 7.2 which is activated by default. I got a tip that changing alias net-pf-10 off in the /etc/modules.conf instead of: alias net-pf-10 ipv6 would help, but there is no such entry...maybe anyone could help?

hallo Liste, habe SuSE 7.2 installiert und wenn ich ifconfig aufrufe wird gezeigt das bei meinem Rechner IPv6 aktiviert ist. Da ich das leider nicht gebrauchen kann würde ich IPv6 gerne deaktivieren, hab nur nirgends gefunden wie oder wo? seccheck

Hello, I have install seccheck, but maybe the are some bogus. I have create users with /bin/false shell, to allow them to access only with ftp, and no telnet or ssh. But seccheck, just say's me : Warning: user xxxxx has got a password and a valid shell but never logged in. Ok, the user has a password to access only with ftp, but he had log on with ftp. seccheck don't make the difference between the shells and the ftp or anothers logins ? Regards. Hi list, Since configuring sendmail is a pain (to me that is) and since sendmail is known for its security holes, I decided that I want to try qmail. But SuSE doesn't distribute qmail. Does anyone outhere know where to download an RPM that can be trusted and that will fit in with my SuSE 7.1 (2.2) system? I learned to trust SuSE (I know, unwise), but who else can be trusted? Hi thomas, first I have to mention is that is an english list. The second is, that this module seems do dial with passwords. If you can tell me about the deamon you are using to enter the Internet via DSL, maybe I can tell you something more about this. THX MfG. Hallo allerseits, ich habe jetzt (endlich) DSL so leidlich am Laufen und erhalte beim Start in /var/log/messages folgenden Eintrag: Sep 16 19:07:33 nf3500 pppd[22578]: Plugin passwordfd.so loaded. Was ist das für ein Modul? Mit freundlichen Grüßen Thomas

passwd hangs with 100% cpu load

I'm running a server with SuSE 7.1 and kernel 2.2.19 (self-made with openwall patch). I have really tight security, and one problem: If used by a normal user, passwd hangs (after successfully changing the password!) with 100% cpu load. It can only be killed by root, ctrl-c does not work, and because of the procfs patch, the user can't see his passwd process (it is running as root, because it is suid). I never had any problems like that, another server with suse 6.3 and openwall patch works fine.
