Running from LiveCD, Gnome, 64 bits
"lspci" shows the computer has an Intel 82Q963/Q965 Integrated Graphics
Controller card (rev. 02), but "lsmod" says "i915" driver is being used instead
the "intel" one, which I think should be the right for this card.
I noted this after trying to activate desktop 3D effects and getting an error
message about "desktops effects are not supported on the current hardware".
So some questions arrises:
1/ Why is the "i915" driver loaded instead the "intel" one?
2/ If "i915" is the right one, why is 3D not enabled by default?
3/ How can users enable the 3D feature in a graphical and easy way?

I had the 11.2M8 repo available over NFS, and was going through an upgrade from
11.1 to 11.2M8. At the point where nfs-client gets upgraded, the nfs mount was
unmounted and of course was unable to continue (I manually remounted it and was
thereafter able to continue - however - it shouldn't have done that.)
It would seem as though upgrades over NFS would be problematic!
