/etc/netconfig.d/dns-bind restarts named. It would be better to use reload
instead to avoid named downtime. In my case postfix refused to start during
boot as the DSL connection incidentally came up the same time and named got
restarted.
AFAICS 11.1 has the same problem.

OOo still used the old 11.1 branding on openSUSE-11.2-milestone7.
Jakub, are there any plans to udpate it for 11.2?
We need two pictures (intro and about). The following details are taken from
the branding package:
--- cut ---
source: %ooo_build_tag-core.tar.bz2:
%ooo_build_tag/default_images/introabout/intro.bmp
type: PC bitmap data, Windows 3.x format, 440 x 286 x 24 (BMP)
purpose: "splash" image displayed for a short time, when the application is
launching
text: should mention the app name "OpenOffice.org" and the major version "3"
context: no border is being displayed around the splash windows
the picture is overlapped by the progress bar: x,y=212,216; w,h=263,8
the default progress bar color is 0,0,128 (blue)
the progress bar has 1 pixel width white border
source: %ooo_build_tag-core.tar.bz2:
%ooo_build_tag/default_images/introabout/about.bmp
type: PC bitmap data, Windows 3.x format, 415 x 95 x 24 (BMP)
purpose: displayed on top of the Help/About OpenOffice.org dialog
text: should mention the app name "OpenOffice.org" and the major version "3"
context: there are displayed several lines of some text below the picture
the text is black on a white background

Summary: X-KDE-SubstituteUID do not work on XFCE and LXDE

I don't know if that is a YaST/ XFCE/ X.org or Usability issue, but because
it's a YaST2 launcher problem i added YaST2 as componet, feel free to edit if i
am wrong.
All YaST .destop files in /usr/share/applications/YaST2 use the
"X-KDE-SubstituteUID" to make them running as root.
X-KDE-SubstituteUID is a KDE only "workaround" for that only KDE is supposed to
be able to understand.
Really, also GNOME as very famous DE understand that.
All the others DE like XFCE, LXDE, Icewm and so on do not understand that (and
they are not supposed to do that) so they run all yast2 modules as NON root
user.
all that Desktop files should edit their exec line and maybe remove
X-KDE-SubstituteUID exactly as has been done with
/usr/share/applications/YaST.desktop into yast2-control-center package.
/usr/share/applications/YaST.desktop content:
[Desktop Entry]
X-SuSE-translate=true
Type=Application
Categories=Settings;System;SystemSetup;X-SuSE-Core-System;X-SuSE-ControlCenter-System;
Name=YaST
Icon=yast
GenericName=Administrator Settings
Exec=/usr/bin/xdg-su -c /sbin/yast2
#OnlyShowIn=KDE;GNOME;
#X-KDE-SubstituteUID=true
X-KDE-RootOnly=true
X-KDE-System-Settings-Parent-Category=system
X-KDE-ServiceTypes=KCModule
Encoding=UTF-8
as you can see use /usr/bin/xdg-su -c in Exec line, made the .desktop file DE
independent

In the Hardware section of YaST, the "GPM configuration" item is not translated
to Hungarian.
Tested on the ncurses interface, it might be the same on GUI.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start YaST.
2. Step to "Hardver" (Hungarian)
================================================================================
IMO, the current wording does not fit in the menu context. The word
"configuration" is superluous and the acronym "GPM" does not make any sense to
the innocent user.
"Mouse on Text Console (GPM)" or something similar would be better. We
probably should as a native speaker, though.

An archive file with cyrillic file names included
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; ru; rv:1.9.0.13)
Gecko/2009080200 SUSE/3.0.13-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.13
There are several discussions about the problem concerning cyrillic filenames
in zip archives and unzip package. Unzip out-of-the-box (compiled from sources)
does not choose filenames encoding correctly.
Developers from Ark say me, that the error is completely from info-zip project
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204984).
There are sime patches to info-zip's unzip package, that makes unzip extract
filenames with correct encoding. But maintainers of info-zip project rejected
these patches (http://www.info-zip.org/board/board.pl?m-1248086794).
It would be nice to include this package in main openSuSE distribution.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create zip-archive, containing files with cyrillic names under Windows.
2. Try to open it with unzip under SuSE
Actual Results:
Filename encoding is incorrect. Example:
pavel@pavel:~/tmp> unzip ReportPacket_DBV90821CJ.zip
Archive: ReportPacket_DBV90821CJ.zip

On M7 i wasn't able to find usually used .desktop files available on the

i searched a little bit, and i found that ~/Desktop folder was not the
"desktop" folder used by KDE4.
The folder used is ~/Scrivania . Scrivania is the NO MORE USED Italian
translation for "Desktop"
