Summary: ZMD - unable to resolve dependancies

ZMD is unable to resolve dependencies - see screen shot and attached files.
I am impressed with ZMD's update reliability - however I am still of the
opinion that ZMD having root authority is remove an entire installation. I feel
this is an unacceptable internal risk. I feel that ZMD functions very well now
in installing updates etc, however I feel that giving the user 2 click to
remove the entire installation a totally unacceptable internal risk.
I feel this should be removed.
Q. Would there be any advantage into creating an authoritative user which is
not root that ZMD could function correctly. Any application with permenent root
authority concerns me

Summary: after deleting DVD shipped openoffice package, the
shortcut for this application assigned in menu aditor
under kde remained occupied (although the program was
deleted!)
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: 32bit
OS/Version: SuSE Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Enhancement
Priority: P5 - None
Component: KDE
AssignedTo: kde-maintainers(a)suse.de
ReportedBy: jan.sekal(a)volny.cz
QAContact: qa(a)suse.de
How to reproduce this bug:
1. perform NEW INSTALLATION of suse 10.2 final, under kde menu editor assign a
shortcut for open office suite (Win F3 in my case)
2. start yast2 and software management, install rpm-python, python-elementree
and python-gtk (required by smart package manager)
3. install smart-0.49.1-40.guru.suse102.i686.rpm,
smart-gui-0.49.1-40.guru.suse102.i686.rpm
4. start smart package manager, press CTRL F, write openoffice, press enter
5. click on openoffice-org (press ok, perform changes, ok again - this deletes
the whole open office) (under yast2, deleting of openoffice is inconcevably
complicated)
6. try to assign shortcut Win F3 to another application - you will not be
allowed to do so, because KDE does not take into account, that openoffice has
been deleted.

Summary: at: strange scheduling

atd always renices tasks based on their queue
queue -> nice
'a' -> 1
'b' -> 3
'c' -> 5
This is inherently bad -- a task can never be scheduled at the
normal nice level 0 or any even (2, 4, ...) level.
This patch fixes this, and implicitly changes the meaning of
the queue names ('a' is not 1 anymore, but 0), but a < b still
holds true.

Summary: Ship with totem-gstreamer and totem-xine
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Enhancement
Priority: P5 - None
Component: GNOME

ReportedBy: martin(a)gamesplace.info
QAContact: qa(a)suse.de
Currently, OpenSuSE only ships with the gstreamer Totem.
It would be nice if there would be two packages, one totem-gstreamer (installed
by default) package and one totem-xine package.
This would make it easier for users to use xine as a backend for Totem.
A user could install totem-xine from the official repositories and would just
have to install a working libxine version from 3d party repositories.

Summary: MacBook Touchpad should be driven by synaptics driver

After the standard install of 10.3-alpha1 there is no way to right click on a
MacBook.
The touchpad driven by the appletouch kernel module can be used with the
x11-input-synaptics driver. http://www.popies.net/atp/
This allows much better configuration of the touchpad.
http://simon.vanderlinden.eu.org/macbook-howto-emulate-the-trackpad-as-a-sy…
The Installer configured the touchpad with:
Section "InputDevice"
Driver "mouse"
Identifier "Mouse[1]"
Option "Buttons" "7"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Name" "Apple Keyboard"
Option "Protocol" "explorerps/2"
Option "Vendor" "Sysp"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection
The name is strange ...
The touchpad is better configured with the lines mentioned in the blog:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse[1]"
Driver "synaptics"
Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "Protocol" "auto-dev"
Option "LeftEdge" "100"
Option "RightEdge" "1120"
Option "TopEdge" "50"
Option "BottomEdge" "310"
