--- Comment #4 from Alexander van Kaam a.vankaam@chello.nl 2009-11-13 22:16:24 MST --- I get the "Module ata_piix not found." as one of the first lines when I boot, its not in the boot, msg and the system does continue to boot.
since I still get it I don't think the bug is fixed, this is on a 100% clean install of opensuse 11.2. system works okay so I guess I don't need the module but the message is a tad worrying when you see it first

--- Comment #9 from Jeff Mahoney jeffm@novell.com 2009-12-13 23:06:17 UTC --- The messages are annoying, but not fatal. The reason the system works fine is because those modules have been statically linked into the kernel so the modules don't exist anymore.
A patch was added to the kernel to generate a modules.builtin file that contains a list of the modules now statically linked in. This list is used to avoid generating warnings while running mkinitrd, but it looks like another problem still exists.
Assigning to mkinitrd maintainer.

--- Comment #13 from Rashad Mughal rash.m2k@gmail.com 2010-01-06 09:36:49 UTC --- I get the same error on my HP Mini 311c - every time it tries to boot.
Failed to get numa........., unable to find parent device...... and FATAL module ahci.....
Always get these 3 messages - the HP 311c has an Nvidia ion graphics and intel atom chip.
I did have problems getting openSUSE 11.2 to boot after install this was because of the broamcom wlan card - I blacklisted some modules and this went ahead and solved the booting issue. (boot was getting stuck at UDEV........) and then activated the wlan card via broadcom-wl rpm package, not sure how this paragraph will help but it may do.
