Any application using libproxy to detect thee settings running on KDE will fail
to find proper proxy settings, when libproxy 0.3.0 is used.
This is due to a multitude of bugs in libproxy 0.3.0:
- The config parser fails to parse anything than the GLOBAL section (everything
inside any [section] is ignored.
- libproxy 0.3.0 has a hardcoded path to kioslaverc, being
~/.kde/share/config/kioslaverc, whereas openSUSE uses ~/.kde4.
Libproxy 0.3.1 addresses those two issues (plus one other .net binding bases,
which can be ignored. openSUSE 11.2 does not contain a package with libproxy #
bindings).
Please consider getting 0.3.1 in openSUSE 11.2, in order to avoid frustration
of the KDE users, which run libproxy enabled apps.

I don't know how urgent this is going to be, but Rosegarden as shipped with
openSUSE 11.2 has a number of annoying glitches:
1. On a default KDE install from the DVD, Rosegarden has no icon in the
Applications menu.
2. Clicking on the "?" icon does not start the application.
3. From the command line, the path does not appear to be set:
znmeb@AlgoCompSynth:~/Projects/AlgoCompSynth> rosegarden
If 'rosegarden' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the
package that contains it, like this:
cnf rosegarden
znmeb@AlgoCompSynth:~/Projects/AlgoCompSynth> cnf rosegarden
Program 'rosegarden' is present in package 'rosegarden4', which is installed on
your system.
Absolute path to 'rosegarden' is '/opt/kde3/bin/rosegarden'. Please check your
$PATH variable to see whether it contains the mentioned path.
4. When I start rosegarden with /opt/kde3/bin/rosegarden, an error dialog box
"Couldn't start the sequencer" appears.
5. When I dismiss that message, I get the following warnings:
Helper programs not found
..
The following features will not be available:
* Export and import of Rosegarden Project files
* Notation previews through LilyPond
..
you should install the following additional programs:
* The Rosegarden Project Packager helper script
* The Rosegarden LilyPondView helper script
These do not appear to be available in the standard 11.2 repos, although I did
manage to find them in the Packman repo.
6. Rosegarden seems to require the "jack" daemon to be running. Sometimes I get
a message to that effect.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install 11.2 M8 with default KDE desktop
2. Install rosegarden4
3. Start rosegarden
Actual Results:
It took some hunting, but I did manage to get everything working. When I get a
chance, I'll document what I did for the wiki.
Expected Results:
Just start up Rosegarden from the KDE menu and everything "just works". ;-)

/etc/raddb/certs/bootstrap runs make in that directory on new
package installation *and* update.
However, if the package is already installed 'make' tries to create
new certificates and fails for whatever reason. 'bootstrap' then
re-creates the ca therefore breaking everything.
IMO
- bootstrap should not be run on update at least. Even on package
install it's undesirable as creating the dh params takes a
*really* long time where you see nothing on screen when using yast
or zypper. radiusd is supposed to call bootstrap itself on first start.
- The commands in the Makefile need to be fixed to not fail nor
produce corrupt files when called if certificates already exist.

I just had a look at factory package blktrace-1.0.1-3.21
source code file blktrace-1.0.1/btreplay/btreplay.c
function find_input_devs
local variable is dsf
I notice the following code
while ((ent = readdir(dir)) != NULL) {
char *p, *dsf = malloc(256);
if (strstr(ent->d_name, ".replay.") == NULL)
continue;
dsf = strdup(ent->d_name);
so the call to malloc at the declaration of dsf is a memory leak
and useless code.
Suggest new code
while ((ent = readdir(dir)) != NULL) {
char *p, *dsf;
if (strstr(ent->d_name, ".replay.") == NULL)
continue;
dsf = strdup(ent->d_name);

When accessing the CUPS interface at http://localhost:631, the rendering of the
page is missing background colors, button images, etc. The interface works, but
navigation is difficult because the usual cues are gone. Installed from
openSUSE-KDE4-LiveCD-Build0308-i686.iso (M8) on an Acer D250 netbook (confirmed
also on a desktop with an ASUS M3N-H/HDMI motherboard). The iso's md5sum was
good.
The installation is missing all the files in /usr/share/doc/packages/cups (the
directories are there, but are empty). The string
'/usr/share/doc/packages/cups' was not found in the YaST-> Software-> Software
Management-> Search in 'File list' function.
Replacing the /usr/share/doc/packages/cups directory contents with the files
from an 11.1 installation fixed the problem.
Selecting Update of the 'cups' package in YaST (from oss repository) also
installed the files (the 11.1 files were deleted beforehand). It would seem
that the files are included in the 'cups' package in the oss repository, but
not in the openSUSE-kde-11.2-livecd-kde-read-only.i686-2.8.0 image on the M8
iso.
The attached image shows the screen rendering.

The pkg-config .pc of libcfitsio is wrong:
1) the version states 3.0x, while the package is actually 3.18 (this seems to
be an upstream bug, and is fixed in 3.21)
2) the include path is wrong, the .pc file says "usr/include", but the .spec
actually installs them into "usr/include/libcfitsio0"

When I change to compiz in KDE's settings manager, the KDE window decorator of
compiz crashes immediately. I'd like to change to the emerald decorator, but
don't know how to do it, since the fusion-icon package is missing. If you
cannot fix this very bug (i.e. the crashing), please include fusion-icon in the
default repository of openSUSE 11.2, and make it be installed automatically if
I select the desktop effects patter.
