The brightness cannot be changed by the destined hotkeys (Fn+Up/Down) since first installation. Other hotkeys for Suspend, Hibernate, Volume and Eject work fine. Don't know if is just coincidence, but in Control Panel / Keyboard shortcuts one can find the working hotkeys options. Brightness is never a choice. After modprobing video I can change the brightness by entering values into /proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCD/brightness. The new kernel image was added to the GRUB menu, at the bottom of list although it was set, correctly, to be the default. This is fine for a simple boot. However, when I then suspended the laptop and booted it back up, it booted the failsafe system. Hence severity == Major. OpenLDAP uses the getaddrinfo() to find out all the interfaces it should bind/listen() on. Under certain cirumstances the currently used glibc in STABLE returns duplicate entries and slapd fails to start getting EADDRINUSE upon the bind() call. I was able to create a small testcase that to reproduce the problem. I'll attach it to this bug. Note that the problem only seems to exist if I call gethostbyname_r before the call to getaddrinfo. I've tested this e.g. with JPEG and TIFF images. In both cases the convert command hangs and never came back until you about it. As I use the pdf conversion of ImageMagick quite regularly I can say, that this was running in the 6.2.5 Version included in SL 10.1. So this might be a bug with the new version in 10.2. I also created a rpm for 10.2 from the latest version 6.3.1 of ImageMagick inside the opensuse build service. Take a look at http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/d7/openSUSE_10.2/ .
