But looking in a problem with another guy I saw this: - I understand that the default gateway can be set by DHCP - Since in /etc/sysconfig/network/dhcp I have by default 'DHCLIENT_SET_DEFAULT_ROUTE="yes"' I suppose that Suse really uses the default gateway that the server sets. - When you use DHCP, in the DNS YaST2 module you have the options "Change Hostname via DHCP" and "Update Name Servers and Search List via DHCP" - When you use DHCP, in the routing YaST2 module you can set the default gateway bbut there isn't any "Update Default Gateway via DHCP" option. So the problem is that the lack of an "Update Default Gateway via DHCP" option when there is the equivalent for DNS is confusing. What an user should think? That default gateway can't be set via DHCP? If he knows is possible he probably will think that Suse isn't able to do it. What if the user doesn't wants to set the default gateway via DHCP but wants to set via DHCP the other network parameters? The same happens on the Acer Ferrari 1000, it's suspend problem is tracked in bug 228344. Needs more testing and fixing of the issues found, for example the broken unload of button.ko. I have seen something like that also on some other machines, but can't say which one atm. 1) I get permanently (every 2 seconds I guess) NameOwnerChanged events on the D-Bus system bus which are caused (directly or indirect) by NetworkManager. They stop if I shutdown Networkmanager. Unfortunately there is no destination set (dest=(null destination) in dbus-monitor), so I can't find the direct source. 2) It looks as if Networkmanager permanently call GetPower() of /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/ipw_wlan_switch on HAL. This happen also every 2 seconds which is really bad, because with every call a fork on HAL happen because this method is implemented as a script. It looks as if 1 and 2 are connected to each other. If I remove the ipw_wlan_switch device from HAL everything stop. IMO the problem is that Networkmanager poll GetPower(). This should get stopped. This is not very good for modern mice, and increasing the acceleration usually just makes the mouse jumpy and imprecise. Xorg also support a much better exponential mouse acceleration similar to the one in Windows and Mac OS X which can be enabled by setting the threshold to 0. This should be used by default.
