I could not find one. The easiest and I thought smallest File Manager was Krusader. Krusader installed defendant files from KDE including defendant library files. As a result the keyring is now deactivated and the application useless. Normaly seamonkey works fine but soon as this happens the display get confused. The upcoming windows are clearly connected to the "parent" window, since when the parent is closed all ajected windows close also (the only way to get rid of them). After restart the programm works as espected again. I have found no way to "force" the bug, it seems to happen when the program is running for some weeks. A couple changes were needed. 1) The ia64 nspluginwrapper rpm does not contain the i386 bits under /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/i386. These need to be there (and the x86_64 version of of nspluginwrapper contains them). 2) nspluginwrapper thinks it needs to locate libs under /usr/lib64 on ia64, when in fact things live under /usr/lib. Symlinking /usr/lib64 to /usr/lib got it working as a WAR. Even if it is only at the beginning, this "beginning" is the time a user measures the performance and snappyness of his new installation and obviously this "beginning" is not a fixed time-period but much longer on older hardware with less RAM and slower harddisks. Advanced users might know how to enter the package-management and disable it, most do not and should not have to. A simple checkbox with a line of explanation that on older hardware and for those who do not need a desktop-search beagle can be disabled completely would suffice. According to the documentation this should execute cron.daily at 00:15. But the customer noticed that now cron daily was run twice, on 00:00 and 00:15. Investigating this he found a bug in: /usr/lib/cron/run-crons. The row: DAILY_TIME_NEW="`echo $DAILY_TIME | sed s,:,, | sed s,^0,, `" will remove the colon and the first zero from the value in DAILY_TIME and hence put 015 into DAILY_TIME_NEW. This is then evaluated in: [ $(($DAILY_TIME_NEW - 15)) -lt "$NOW_H" ] && [ $(($DAILY_TIME_NEW + 15)) -gt "$NOW_H" ] According to the bash manpage (ARITHMETIC EVALUATION): Constants with a leading 0 are interpreted as octal numbers. Hence 015 is evaluated octal which gives 5 times 8 power of 0 plus 1 time 8 power of 1 equals 5+8=13. For 13, the comparison above is true for both NOW_H=0 and NOW_H=15. I guess it is not intended that the value in DAILY_TIME gets evaluated octal. A fix therefore is simple.
