Hallo liebe Liste, ich habe mich eingetragen um mal hier zu fragen, was so der Stand der Dinge ist bei Linux und Screenreader-Software. Ich möchte eigene Projekte auf Barrierefreiheit testen, dazu aber, vor allem in der Arbeitsphase, nicht immer Windows booten müssen. Zumal ich einen lokalen Apache nutze und dann alles doppelt haben muß. Hat hier jemand schon mal probiert, JAWS unter Crossover Office von Codeweavers zu installieren? (Nach dem freien Wine wage ich nicht zu fragen, da bin ich sogar mit dem Internet Explorer gescheitert). Ich bin da ja skeptisch, weil JAWS meines Wissens auf irgendwelche internen Schnittstellen zugreift in Windows. Wie ist es mit emacspeak? Ist das eine empfehlenswerte Alternative, zumindest zum Testen? Von dem Sprachmodul unter Gnome höre ich leider keinen Ton. Ich habe hier übrigens Suse 9.1. Herzlichen Dank schon mal für Hinweise! SBL/SuSEConfig problem

Hi, I know this is a cup of tea which got a bit cool over time but: I can't get cursor routing to work on my machine : SuSE 9.1 PRO SBL 2.2-23 (FTP.ed from the 9.2 repository) kernel 2.6.5-7-145-default (updated by suse). Okay, I know you've got to deactivate UTF-8... So I tried changing the settings in /etc/sysconfig/language and /etc/sysconfig/keyboard accordingly and then run /sbin/SuSEconfig... However no matter what I do something overwrites my lc-variables. If any one knows the problem and has solved it I would be really thankful. Attached are my /etc/sysconfig files and the ouptut of locale run by root. installing SUSE 8.2 with Vario40 display

Hello Everyone, I am trying to install SUSE on a notebook system with a Vario40 connected to the serial port. After I start the installation, my braille ddisplay locks up. I cannot press any of the buttons on the display. I do not get any text on the display. It looks like my display is freezing during the hardware probe. Is there a way to force the screen reader to use a particular display on a particular port? I have tried this in both Baum mode and Handytech mode. Big problem to install SuSE 8

Hi all, I try to install SuSE 8 with an handytec BrailleTop But I encounter a big problem using Yast2. The BrailleTop is properly detected but when I try to navigate between the various choices present on the screen the braille display doesn't follow the cursor properly. I read the faq and others documentations on the unofficial english webpage and find that I need to indicate to the brailleTop that I want to switch to profile 2. To do such thing I pressed on the first left key, maintain it pressed and press the height key from left. I hear two beeps and then I suppose I'm in profile 2 but despite this command the problem is the same. So what can I do now to have the BrailleDisplay following the cursor in order to know which option is selected ? Thanks in advance for your help and advices.
