Dear Fellow Linux Enthusiasts,
I am writing this on behalf of my blind friend. I am trying to get a speech-
and Linux-based desktop installed for him. While researching the options
blinux and emacspeak have both come up on several occasions.
We need support for the AccentPC synthesizer card, and the Crystal Audio 42sx
sound card. From what I have researched, the AccentPC card is not supported
intrinsically by emacspeak.
We are hoping to get some general information, and/or suggestions for this
type of setup.
Things we are hoping to find out:
- a solution that doesn't require kernel re-compilation [if possible].
- which linux distribution would support us the best?
- any type of general feedback on how to proceed would be appreciated
Thanks,
