[zypp-devel] Enabling Hudson feeding obs://zypp:Code11_2-Branch for 11.2/SLE11-SP1 submission

Hi! Factory is moving on, and it looks like the current libzypp code does not build with factories new gcc. So it's time to setup a new build and test environment on Hudson, that builds for code_11.2. Packages will then be autopmatically submitted to obs://zypp:Code11_2-Branch which will be the source for future submissions to obs://openSUSE:11.2:Update and obs://SUSE:SLE-11:SP1. You can find the packages in my [home project][3]. # Changes * Gemified. It is now available as a ruby gem. The rpm package is now therefore rubygem-enhancerepo * Changed command line option parsing: for multiple items in an option, don't use commas anymore: --generate-update pkg1,pkg2 becomes --generate-update pkg1 pkg2 * Support for product metadata generation from release packages. [zypp-devel] MeeGo - Maemo + Moblin merge

Hi all! You might have heard about Maemo+Moblin being merged into MeeGo platform. The FAQ[1] says it will use RPM as its packaging system. But AFAIK it hasn't been decided which package management system will be used. (Moblin uses yum and Maemo uses apt). My thought is to approach MeeGo developers and ask them whether they've thought about zypper. It is similar to yum, but is faster and has lower memory footprint (C++ vs Python). This is crucial for mobile devices and might be a really good reason to switch. If we'll be able to persuade them, it will bring a huge users and developers base to zypper. What do you think?
