Soweit ich es verstehe, gibt es mehrere Textsortenkonventionen und es geht hier wohl gerade darum, ob man sich eine Art eigene Konvention (zumindest für die wichtigsten Fälle) schafft oder auf bereits bestehende Konventionen verweist oder von Fall zu Fall entscheidet oder jeder weiterhin so übersetzt, wie er kann und es für richtig/sinnvoll hält. Wenn man "repository, repositories" *nicht* als Fremdwort (Repository, Repositorys) verwenden möchte, so sollte dies wohl im gesamten deutschsprachigen openSUSE-Bereich geschehen, zumindest auch in der Benennung der Benutzeroberfläche. Etwas im Wiki "Depot" zu nennen, was in der Benutzeroberfläche "Repository/Repositorys/Repositories" genannt wird, dürfte meiner Meinung nach vor allem zur Verwirrung führen. Ich denke auch nicht, dass professionelle Übersetzer große Zufriedenheit bei Ihren Auftraggebern (oder von den Endkunden) ernten würden, wenn sie bei technischen Anleitungen, Bedienungsanleitungen die Begriffe in den Anleitungen mit anderen Worten bezeichnen würden, als dies in der Bedienoberfläche geschieht... Als ich in der internationalen Mailingliste für Übersetzung (opensuse-translation) auch nur ein solches Vorgehen erwähnte, waren die Antworten sehr eindeutig, siehe http://lists.suse.com/archive/opensuse-translation/2011-05/msg00011.html und folgende.
