I use rsynth-2.0 -- the linux driver included is 8 bit only (and needs a one line fix for it to work with SuSE). I have hacked together a 16-bit OSS (compatability) driver for it if you are interested. I have plans to write a native alsa and arts driver for it. The voices that festival produces are _slightly_ more natural sounding, but festival takes several seconds to start up on my K6-2/500 whereas rsynth starts instantaneously even on a K5/100. I used to use saytime to "chime" the time, but it writes headerless mu-law files to /dev/audio, and that causes SuSE-9.0 to hang solid looping, saying the time over and over, and the computer becomes totally unresponsive (an alsa OSS compatibility bug I have been too lazy to report). G-PSK31 und Twpsk

Hallo OMs! I'm Peter, DL3VPZ from Dresden. Today I've installed the gpsk31. I have no problems to receive psk31-station and I also can say "F11" for sending my own text, but than I have a problem: There's no other way to come back to the receive-modus than to close the program!!! :-( Do you have a hint, what this can be? An other dig-mode-programm (qsstv) is doing a good job switching transmit/receive... The button "Abort transmit" isn't highlighted, so I can't press ist! Thanks for helping me! 73 de Peter.

Hi. Does anyone of you here run the Xastir ?. I got the information, that the Xastir I used was very old. Its the one from the SuSE DVD. Hallo to all and have a nice 2004! Is anybody out there using qsstv? I have two main problems with it: 1. There's IMHO no possibility to put in a coloured text in a picture to be sent!?! 2.
