It does for me.
The /dev/input/eventN mouse section is gone for good, and a standard mouse
listening on /dev/input/mice is included (as it is supposed to be). The mouse
works after plugging it in after Xserver startup.
(In reply to comment #4)
> Section "InputDevice"
> Driver "mouse"
> Identifier "Mouse[1]"
> Option "Buttons" "5"
> Option "Device" "/dev/input/event1"
> Option "Name" "USB Mouse"
> Option "Protocol" "explorerps/2"
> Option "Vendor" "Sysp"
> Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
> EndSection
This looks strange. For /dev/input/eventN only the evdev driver can understand
the protocol (not the "mouse" driver), and it has a completely different set of
options.
Marcus, I assume something is broken in the autoconfiguration, can you check
please?

I have just installed openSUSE 10.2 Alpha 4 and selected to install KDE
desktop. One of the first things I tried to do after installation was to take
some screenshots. But when I tried to launch ksnapshot I noticed that it was
not installed. I think that ksnapshot should be installed by default when
installing KDE desktop and it should be connected with Print Screen keyboard
key.
Note that I also tried to find ksnapshot in Yast software installer and it
couldn't find it on the CDs.

10.2a4 cd1 & mini-iso (both checked with md5sum on file and verified by k3b
burner)
Very early in install, "Kernel panic - not syncing: attempted to kill init!"
occurs just after "freeing unused kernel memory" message, which is followed by
"SMP" alone on a line. Hardware isn't SMP...
Tried default install, "safe settings" and using F4 to pre-select NFS & server
- all crash in the same way.
Hardware is AMD K6-2/500 with 512M RAM, ATI AGP video
I can post a picture of the screen but obviously no log files etc.
See also 203466 (not posted by me) though that is 10.2 alpha 3

Pluging the mouse in later does not work..
If the mouse is pluged at any time after the kernel are booted it wont even
turn on (RF mouse there is a green light on the base turning on when it catch
mouse signal, it stay off).
Booting with the mouse connected it power up and the base catch signal but no
response in X. At this point unplug/replug the mouse and it wont power back
on...

I was just reporting a couple of bugs on my main machine and the Gnome
screensaver cut in. I got the prompt up for entering my password (the one that
I logged in with) and it is rejected as invalid.
I have tried typing it slowly, and I have tried using the US keyboard layout
variation (my keyboard is normally German and I had a problem with Alpha 3 not
setting the keyboard to German during the install), but all attempts to enter
my password fail.

I have the same problem with AMD Sempron 2400+ 1.66 GHz CPU.
Testing on: openSUSE 10.2 Alpha 4 - so basically this was NOT fixed.
The kernel panics when I try to install openSUSE Linux - in both normal and
failsafe modes.
look at the attached screenshot.

------- Comment #4 from jsmeix(a)novell.com 2006-09-08 03:43 MST -------
Note the special case /usr/share/hplip/data/xml/unsupported.xml
which lists the models which are not supported by HPLIP
but those models may be supported by another driver/PPD,
see bug #62092 - in particular see
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=62092#c9
(here a quotation for the public):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If a PPD file matches to the model
then this model is configurable by YaST
and YaST will have an entry for this model in ppd_db.ycp
and YaST will configure this model
else if a '|not' entry in printers_support matches to the model
then this model is "known unsupported"
and YaST will have an entry for this model in ppd_db.ycp
and YaST will show the "This printer is not supported
by SUSE Linux ..." message to the user
and YaST will not configure this model
else the model is "unknown"
and YaST will not have an entry for this model in ppd_db.ycp
and it is up to the user to determine if there is a compatible
model which can be used or if it is unsupported
