10.2a4 cd1 & mini-iso (both checked with md5sum on file and verified by k3b burner)

Very early in install, "Kernel panic - not syncing: attempted to kill init!" occurs just after "freeing unused kernel memory" message, which is followed by "SMP" alone on a line. Hardware isn't SMP...

Tried default install, "safe settings" and using F4 to pre-select NFS & server - all crash in the same way.

Hardware is AMD K6-2/500 with 512M RAM, ATI AGP video

I can post a picture of the screen but obviously no log files etc.
