The drive is unmounted, and never remounted when new media is put in the optical drive. Unplugging the USB optical drive and replugging it normally kicks it back into life again. If this problem is occurring on SATA Optical Drives as well as USB Optical drives, this makes the use of optical drives in my 12.1 installation all but useless (can someone please test ASAP) Hotplug and automount is working perfectly for standard USB Flash drives and external hard drives, it just seems to be Optical Drives which are fubar. Expected behaviour. The primary reason are hanging kde processes. /etc/init.d/nfs boot.localfs use mkill to stop those processes like these. This is missing in boot.crypto (/lib/cryptsetup/boot.crypto.function) The same problem should happen for cifs and others. The problem is not a security issue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. After adding some debug code, I found that the JSObject.getWindow(Applet theApp) method throw an exception, which plays the main role when using Java to interoperate with the page. I think this is a terrible problem. When installation from DVD is started without additional arguments, it crashes during early boot with "spilled tea" on the display (random dots, mostly white and black with some signs of change in the top part of the screen). So I added nomodeset to boot parameters. When both java-1_6_0-openjdk and java-1_7_0-openjdk are installed this results in three identically named menu entries. Are policytool from OpenJDK 1.6 and 1.7 actually incompatible? If so, then it would make sense to add the version to the Name and GenericName of the .desktop file and not manage the desktop files through update-alternatives at all. If they are compatible, the versioned .desktop files should go into private directories and only the policytool.desktop symlink should be left in /usr/share/applications. Also please consider changing the Categories to Settings;DesktopSettings;Security; because this is not an utility but an application to manage per-user settings.
