This induces a wrong answer for some dates where DST occurred (format: dd/mm/yyyy): 22/05/1966, 28/05/1967, 01/06/1969, 31/05/1970, 23/05/1971, 28/05/1972, 03/06/1973, 26/05/1974, 01/06/1975, 30/05/1976, 22/05/1977, 28/05/1978, 17/05/1979. For instance, a "new Date(1972, 4, 28)" returns "May 27 1972, 23:00:00 GMT+0100 (CET)" instead of the correct date "May 28 1972...". The point in common for all these dates is that the DST change happened at 00:00:00. However there are other dates where the DST change happened at 00:00:00 that do not induce the above error: 04/06/1916, 01/04/1917, 10/03/1918, 02/03/1919, 21/03/1920, 15/06/1940, 16/03/1947, 26/05/1968. For all remaining years, either there was no DST change or it happened at a time different from 00:00:00 (usually 02:00:00). I performed the above tests using the addon FireBug and adding a "new Date(...)" watch. This problem occurs in Firefox as well as Chrome but not in Opera and Konqueror, accordingly to reports from forum users. Moreover, the same happens for other distributions (Mandriva, Fedora, Ubuntu) but not on Windows (with the same version of Firefox, for instance), so it seems to be something independent from the browser and OS but dependent on an element that is common for several Linux distributions, such as the timezone package. No big issues so far. Until last night when I installed updates. Then my machine could not boot up. I cannot reproduce the problem since this is my working machine, but I tried installing and updating many times same result. The packages I suspect is the mdmadm + lvm2 (if I uncheck these then I can update the rest without problems) It say that it cannot find the disks some very UUID's, but the ID's are the same as before I updated. As as mentioned it say waiting for device, asks if I want to fallback to another one that also does not work For me this is very critical because there is no way in h.... Network Manager connects to wireless automatically During the next reboot, repeat the above to get wireless connection. Network Manager should connect to wireless automatically during startup/bootup. Here is a list of the problems I encountered. 1. On reboot, networkmanagement won't retain the password for my WPA network. I have to input it every time. 2. After I make the initial connection, within about 10-15 minutes the connection will show as weakening, then will be dropped. After that it is impossible to reconnect to my network without rebooting the computer. It also won't connect to other available networks, and if it fails to connect to another network that network won't appear in the list of detected wlan networks in networkmanager anymore. 3. After my wireless connection is dropped, network manager won't "see" my wireless network anymore. I can be three feet away from the antenna, but it won't show the network. Using ifup I can scan for and find the network, then connect up to it. But not with network manager. 4. On opensuse 12.1, the network manager will drop the network and then won't see it for about 10 minutes or so. All of a sudden, it seems to time out and it can see my network again and connect to it. But with opensuse 12.2, I haven't been able to get it to see the network again after any time out period. Once its gone, its gone for good. 5. On opensuse 12.2, many times after rebooting the laptop network manager won't pick up my wlan network at all, If I scan for networks, it won't show up. Yet if I switch to ifup I can scan for networks, find mine, and connect up immediately.
