Should not hal also use a fixed ID? I followed this Wiki page to the letter: http://en.opensuse.org/Openssh#SFTP_chroot_with_ChrootDirectory I have Swedish community users trying to set this up to with same result as me. This thread takes up the same issue: http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=122640731518850&w=2 But the solution mentioned there is not acceptable because as it stats on the Wiki you make one folder the chroot folder and then mapping the users home folder relative to the chroot folder, in this scenario the users should get write permissions to his own folder, but that is not possible, thus breaking the functionality intended. So the question is, is this a bug or is it designed to act like this? To somewhere in the root filesystem I have been unable to locate (yet?). Ah, somehow it has been automatically erased, by mc on exit, I hope. I know it was copied to / somewhere because I saw the available free space decreasing. I did the test twice. Next I tried to load the openSUSE boot menu with configfile /boot/grub/menu.lst So I could start openSUSE 11.2, but boot fails because root partition is not found. This seems to be similar to #500979 - with one difference that at that time (SLED 11) only the problem on ESB2 occurred. Trying to replace the 64-bit version of mozilla-nss-certs with its 32-bit version will probably make Firefox work again, but I'm afraid, it will kill all the rest of the 64-bit applications which need the nss/ssl functionality. The postfix smtp daemon therefore was reachable over the network by default. This update therefore resets the value to 'no' in /etc/sysconfig/mail. If you intentionally want postfix to listen for remote connection you need to manually set it to 'yes' again. I don't think that this is a good idea since it will also DOS several mailservers. OTOH, default installations should be protected by the default firewall settings. Please re-think the decision to change SMTPD_LISTEN_REMOTE. The default value of $ENV apparently changed somewhere between ksh-93s-114.1 (openSUSE 11.0) and ksh-93t-165.2.i586 (openSUSE 11.2). old default: $HOME/.kshrc ($HOME is not expanded) new default: $HOME/.kshrc ($HOME **is** expanded) At /etc/profile line 357, there's a check to see if $ENV matches the default value. If not, $HOME/.kshrc is read (if the file exists). However, the default value checked is no longer correct, and as a result the file is read twice. One should manually enter the the connection properties dialog, check and uncheck something and press OK. Then the connection resumes.
