Last week: - I hacked on mobile versions of openFATE and OBS, created a rails plugin with Andre to switch iOs/Android devices to this version and have a framework that can easily be used for all rails apps. Hi. in preparation of video recording the crossdistro devrooms on Fosdem I did: - asking colleagues for a decent video camera - evaluated whether it is possible to do that task with digital photo cameras therefor I recorded - the examination talks of two of our trainees (and gave them some feedback on their presentations) - the presentation of the result of the AppInstaller meeting that took place in our Nuremberg office: http://distributions.freedesktop.org/wiki/Meetings/AppInstaller2011 Video can be found on http://tube.opensuse.org soon. In preparation of the hackweek next week I played around with freepascal and found out that it will most likely not help me. Did also some minor other things like writing a small script for easily calling 'find' with excluding a set of directories and played around with git to finally find out som best practices. [RED] - Ismail is still not here. Ambassy is hanging behind [AMBER] - Egbert Eich changed the team and is now in the Labs. That is great for Egbert as he seems to be home now, and also good for us because we have an even better contact to the Labs. Have fun, Egbert, in your new team and do not forget us :-) - The effort for maintenance and security is constant, however the effort for boosting grows steadily, for example for Pavol who happens to be on the openSUSE Board which was flooded recently. But Olaf Kirch helped and took some packages over - thanks :) [GREEN] - Fixed Hermes - starship: Make use of libxml instead of rexml for xml read, to be compliant with the openSUSE software stack (=Repo). - Finished the Hermes Plugin for Connect so far. Of course room for improvement, but I declare finished so far :) - Digged a bit into owncloud for hackweek - Were happy about the sprints here, incl. Hi, What I did last week: + openSUSE: - fixed various GNOME issues in Factory - voted for the elections - caught up with the big thread on opensuse-project + Cross-distro: - organized/participated in App Installer Meeting - was present at the Bretzn Meeting, but I didn't feel that useful. My original plan was to work on the Software Center, but after a close look, the changes I needed were too invasive. I need to hear more about Canonical's CLA first before doing such changes. tube.opensuse.org and visibility of what we have!

again and again I find little openSUSE gems everywhere. Manu told us about openSUSE concept, now there is tube.opensuse.org with promo video's!!! We really seem to suck at giving such things visibility. Manu, our new website should have a link to that video site too! Another thing I was thinking about - giving our ambassadors some visibility. We ask ambassadors to create an event report if they have gone and do something cool for openSUSE. Can we have those reports show up at the ambassador's personal page: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Ambassadors_list and the event site itself: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Ambassadors_events#2011 and in a stream on the openSUSE home page? That way, each ambassador builds up a track record of where he/she's been going on their own homepage; and we can find out the results of an event on our event page's; and we can show the world what we do by aggregating them on our homepage. Somehow, each report should probably end up on planet too. Any ideas on how to do all that as easy and automated as possible? Something with openSUSE connect maybe? If an ambassador could enter his event report & the other ambassadors who were there in one place which then distributes it to a RSS feed for the homepage & planet as well as back to the ambassador's private page, that would rock...

I'm a recent addition to the core Elgg development team. I managed the development for the upcoming 1.7.2 release and have been an active plugin developer.
