What I worked on last week for opensuse: - openfate widgets for connect dashboard basically ready, need package php5-pecl_http on connect host - openfate support, small fixes, screening day at 20.12. Egbert's Weeks 48 - 50 ====================== Past Weeks: - Dealt with AMD about graphics. - Took part in the discussion about the Connect sprint. - Started to get acquainted with PHP and Elgg. - Added a page handler to search for user info in data base and return the data as xml. This feature was still left over from the openFATE work and is a prerequisite for a user interface to openFATE to search for possible actors. - Scrapped the page handler and started to add this functionality as a REST API to connect_api. - Battled with travel expenses. Work report Klaas Freitag cw 49/2010 [RED] [AMBER] [GREEN] - Again some useful fixes to Hermes, motivated through feedback on my last fixes of the digest mails - Set up Elgg again, tried to get that back into brain - Some time spent on thinking how connect should look like - Work on the Invis-Project, created the project, discussed and wrote many mails on the mailinglist. [amber] - once again it was found out that 11.4 has no "key features", because everyone works on either infrastructure, SLE or marketing. And the 11.3 "key features" are not even maintained for 11.4, e.g. spideroak fails to build since august. Hey hey hey, What I did last week: - meetings (team, ops) - submitted 11.3 maintenance updates that were +1'ed by maintenance team last week - connect kick-off - lots of packaging: - many package updates (to new versions, or to fix build, or...) - review of various long-standing submissions - guided a few community members in packaging land - fixed some annoying bugs (yelp not working, for example) - announced next bug day. Connect poll test

Hi, the board elections will start in january 2011, and we are in the process of phasing out users.opensuse.org in favour for connect.opensuse.org. So we need to make sure that we can run the election there. There is a poll plugin available, that we plan to use for this. I created a test poll for the board elections here: http://connect.opensuse.org/pg/polls/read/digitaltomm/10593/board-election-… (opensuse login not yet working, please ask prusnak if you don't have a test account) The issues I currently see are: - Start- End-date: Users.o.o had this configureable. In case of need we can click at the right time, but I don't see how to end a vote. - The results shouldn't be visible until the vote is done. Maybe it's also ok if only users that already voted can see the intermediate results? - It would be nice if we could add some introductory text above the poll options. - Users.o.o had much nicer graphs on participation, results. We may create those manually with an external tool. See for example: https://users.opensuse.org/elections/2/result - We need to announce the election to all members. Users.o.o had a function for this. To do this manually we need at least a list of all members emails. - Is it ok that one can see which user already voted, and when he voted? By constantly monitoring you could create a list which member voted for wich candidate. - The vote is now restricted to the group 'members'. Does this mean it is only visible for them, or can everyone see it? - The site needs more design love.
