I was about to update my kernel to the new stable 2.6.0, but notice Jens has added some changes since test11. Is there any reason to suppost the test11 patch wouldn't work? [RELEASE] DVD+RW Support for 2.6.6

Hi guys, Sorry for the long time its taken me to spin the patch for 2.6.6, been a little busy. Anyway DVD+RW support is now available for 2.6.6, patch is available from the downloads section on www.lbsd.net If possible, i would like to know success stories (make & model) so I can list supported hardware as i've heard there are a few drives that don't work so cool. Can't see the files on a CD-RW

Hello. I'm running Fedora Core 2 on an Celeron/SIS chipset PC with a custom built 2.6.6 kernel with Peter Osterlund's packet-2.6.6.patch.bz2 applied. CD Writer is a HP DVDWriter dvd300i with the 3.00 firmware. This is a UDF Rev. 1.50 disk made using HP's DLA software under another OS on the same machine and is known to contain lots of data. Any suggestions on how to get this working are welcome. Did you have the same problems with reading CD/DVDs created by DirectCD with the 2.6.4-54.5-default kernel ? Did you fix this by installing another kernel ? As far I can understand your mail, you have had problems with your mouse. However, I do not understand how a mouse problem can be related to UDF ? I had with SuSE 9.0 kernel 2.4.x Regards, Vlad!

Problems with disks created by Roxio DirectCD

Hi there, I have a problem with SuSE 9.1 when reading CD/DVD created with DirectCD under Win XP. DirectCD is a packet writing program provided by Roxio. When trying to mount a CD-RW/DVD +/-RW then there isn't any error message. The media is "open" for write, so files can be added and deleted No errors either in /var/log/messages. However if I try to ls then I get following errors: /bin/ls: /media/dvd/ks08: No such file or directory /bin/ls: /media/dvd/ks09: No such file or directory /bin/ls: /media/dvd/ks10: No such file or directory /bin/ls: /media/dvd/ks11: No such file or directory ...... It's also not possible to cd into the directories located on the media. The problem is a little bit different when I mount CD-R/DVD +/-R, which are "closed" for write. Then I can ls the content without any problem. I can also cd into the directories located on the Media. The problems however occur when I try to copy files from the media to hard-drive. As long as the files are <= 15 MB everything is fine. If the files are > 15MB then I can hear the CD/DVD drive slowing down and there is an I/O error displayed. I have tested this with a Samsung DVD ROM and a NEC 1300 Multinorm DVD Writer. So I *guess* it's not drive related. The CDs I used for the test can be read without any problems from SuSE 9.0 and Win XP so I also assume that the media is OK! The funny thing is that I did not have those problems with SuSE 8.1, SuSE 8.2 and SuSE 9.0. I have kernel: 2.6.4-54.5-default (SuSE 9.1 Pro distribution) and UDF Driver: 0.9.8.1 Any idea? getting precompiled pktcdvd.o for 2.4.18-14 (RHL 8)

Hi! I am running on a 2.4.18-14 kernel and I want to have the pktcdvd.o module for packet writing, but I don't want to stuff up my other modules and settings. Therefore I don't dare to patch my kernel source code and recompile my modules. Therefore where can I download the precompiled pktcdvd.o? If you have this file, would you please send it to me as an attachment OFF LIST? Error Compiling 2.6.6 with patch 2.6.5 (latest patch?)

packet writing CD bootable?

Hello, i'm new to that list, is it possible to make a bootable packet writing CD? How i can make a CD with first session ISO9660 for booting and a second session formatted in packet writing with UDF or eventually EXT fs? Thank in advance, i hope this is not a faq. Roberto.
