Hi I recently upgraded my motherboard which has an on-board Radeon HD3200 IGC (RS780G). I tried using the radeon module and radeonhd module (v1.2.3) in Slackware Current, which worked as long as I did not switch to a virtual console or logout - black screen, hard crash. I downloaded the latest version of the radeonhd v1.2.5 in git. The driver worked great, no more hard crashing on logout or vc. However, it seems that X defaults to 1600x1200 and will not change to any other resolution. The radeon module allowed 1920x1440, but it seems 1600x1200 is maxing out. The xorg log shows 1920x1440 @ 60Hz. For now 1600x1200 is okay, at least its not crashing on logout. [PATCH] last of cursor cleanup

This bug it's really annoying...so let me know what I have to do in order to collect information useful to get rid of this problem, 'cause here I can reproduce it always simply opening glxgears... HD2600 blank monitor(s)

Hello, This is my first post to this list, I hope it's appropriate, if not just let me know. This is my card: $ /usr/sbin/lspci | grep -i vga 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV630 PRO AGP [Radeon HD 2600 PRO AGP] When I fire up startx with my xorg.conf both monitors remain black, but they don't go into standby mode or anything like that. I get just two black screens (or one if I de-attach one of them, it makes no difference). Log attached for this case (Xorg.0.log). If I erase the xorg.conf file, and then launch startx, then both monitors go into standby mode, so this time it's even worse. I also attach the log file for this case (Xorg.0.log_noconfig). The xorg server is 1.5.3. RADEONHD: version 1.2.5, built from dist of git branch master, commit cb54f48b, according to the log files. One thing that I just remembered is that both monitors have an vga connector, *BUT* they are connected to a DVI conector using an adapter. Since the whole issue seems to have something to do with the monitors maybe that has something to do with the issue. However I have no other way to connect them to my video card since it hasn't any vga plugs. I will gladly provide any other information that could help to clear the issue. radeonhd leaving artifacts on screen - any tweaks that will help?

Listmates, On Archlinux with kde3, the radeonhd driver (xf86-video-radeonhd 1.2.5-1) leaves occasional artifacts on the screen. The card on my laptop is an "RS690M" (x1200). Hello there! I got OpenSuSE 11.1; I am running: xorg-x11-driver-video-radeonhd-1.2.5_20090506_4be5f71-5.1 uname -rio 2.6.27.21-0.1-pae i386 GNU/Linux KDE4(STABLE) I am having several issues and i would be greatful, if you would help me with the following inconviniences: 1. Please would you add my Cards ID and Cards name to be fully supported by the driver? 2. cat /proc/mtrr issues the following output: reg00: base=0x00000000 ( 0MB), size=2048MB: write-back, count=1 reg01: base=0xc0000000 (3072MB), size= 256MB: write-combining, count=1 I got 2 GB System Memory; I think the second entry would be for the GFX? But in fact it has 512 MB 3. I have to boot the kernel with the switch "nopat" in order to supress many memory message lines in /var/log/messages like these: Mar 15 17:54:00 wild-thing kernel: Xorg:2631 conflicting memory types c0000000-d0000000 write-combining<->uncached-minus Mar 15 17:54:00 wild-thing kernel: Xorg:4954 freeing invalid memtype c0000000- d0000000 Mar 15 18:19:16 wild-thing kernel: Xorg:2631 freeing invalid memtype c0000000- d0000000 4. Since a recent update from a 3 week older one to the one mentioned initially, I recieve sporadically this error (Xorg.conf wasnt changed after Updating Packages): (EE) RADEONHD(0): RHDMCSetupFBLocation: Cannot setup MC: not idle!!! An instant restart of the System results in the Xserver starting normally; 5. Also i think ther maybe an dependency of the memory thing with this Warning of /var/log/Xorg.0.log??: (WW) RADEONHD(0): rhdAtomAllocateFbScratch: FW FB scratch area not located at the end of VRAM. Scratch End: 0x8000000 VRAM End: 0x10000000 Would be nice to see this fixed, really 6. Other nasty BUGS: Watching an MPEG Stream using MPLAYER and starting any <- 3D app at the same time, results in the WHOLE system freezing. Only Hard-Off posssible. (Reproducable with FooBillard and Googleearth); CRTL ALT BACKSPACE wont work in case of a freeze due to 3D application; 7. Listmates, Still reeling from ATI shooting the middle finger at its customer base with R500 and earlier cards. I unfortunately have probably 1/2 dozen or so of the higher end cards 850XT, 850XT-PE, and a number of not so powerful 9600s, and an X1200. The primary card that gives me grief is the X1200 in my laptop. Currently I have it running compiz on openSuSE 11.0 (with fglrx) and on Arch Linux (with radeonhd). The purpose of this post is just to ask if I can provide any information that will help with the development of the radeonhd driver. It's like voting... You lose your right to bitch if you don't even go to the polls. So I'm hear, not to bitch, but to see if I can help in any way make the radeonhd one kickass OSS driver for ATI cards. I was amazed to see this project hosted by opensuse. Fantastic! Many will already know me from the user list there. If you don't, I have a server I can post any needed information that I have to in order to cut down on what gets sent to the list. If anybody would like logs, aticonfig info, dmidecode info, whatever from the cards I have, just let me know and I'll be glad to make that information available. Keep up the great work. On Arch, I have compiz 0.8.2.1 working fine with the radeonhd driver. Only issues are speed issues on window resize, etc., but other than that, the driver rocks. That's for the 1200 card too. There are 4 vertical "lines", about 20 pixes in width that go across the screen from top to bottom. When I place the mouse cursor on top of these "lines", I get a flickering mouse cursor. The 4 lines are at about 235-255 pixels from the left edge of the screen, at 490-510 pixels from the left edge, at at 940-960 pixels from the left edge and at 1005-1025 pixels from the left edge. On the other monitor, this does not happen. The resolution the monitor on which it is happening is running is 1280x1024.
