I have xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd package version 1.2.5
+git20090429.357f190d-0ubuntu0tormod
I compiled radeon.ko and drm.ko from git sources and copied them
to /lib/modules/2.6.28-11-generic/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm
lsmod | grep radeo shows:
radeon 379168 1
drm 203424 2 radeon
I load the radeon module explicitly in /etc/modules
If I take a window and drag it around the screen it redraws fast, but if
then I switch to another user keeping the first session open, dragging a
window around the desktop is slow.
The second X logs sais:
(EE) [drm] Could not set DRM device bus ID.
(EE) RADEONHD(0): [dri] DRIScreenInit failed. Disabling DRI.
The first session does not have this issue.
This is an integrated Radeon HD3200 (780G).
The logs are attached.
I'm running 64 bit version of everything and I used GCC 4.3.3 to build
the modules.
uname -a shows
Linux phenom 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC
2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Any idea why the second session could not set DRM device bus ID?
I attached the xorg.conf.

the attached patch fixes an issue with exa on rs690. A similar patch was
applied to the radeon already, and I can report, that it also fixes the
problem with radeonhd. See http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20273

Hi there!
I just tried to compile the current radeonhd on my slackware 12.2.
To do this I updated xorg-macros, compiled libpciaccess and tried to
compile the current git.
Doing this I got following error:

Hello list,
I'm trying to get a HD4670 to run in dual-head mode. I explicitly want the
mode where each head has a separate display, i.e. no xinerama; each screen
should be a separate X session.
Most things I try either fail with a completely garbled screen; the best I can
get is two screens in xinerama but with the native resolutions of the monitors
not recognised at all. Experimenting is not helped by the fact that switching
back to console mode does not work. The screen is either completely garbled
after X terminates or the monitor shows "cannot show resolution". The only way
can experiment is by ssh'ing into the machine. But hey, that's great compared
with Windows ;-)
I have a Dell 2001FP (1600x1200) and a dell 1905(1280x1024) monitor attached
to both DVI ports on the card.
Has anyone succeeded in getting this card to work in this mode? I tried both
radeonhd and fglrx; the latter often hangs the entire machine and does not
work either...
