I've got a Dell Optiplex with Radeon HD 2400 XT and DMS-59 connector.
The workaround for X1300 in rhd_id.c works fine for me, since I adapted it to
my video card.
I added the line :
> { 0x94C1, 0x1028, 0x0D02, "Dell Radeon HD 2400 XT", DMS59},
in the rhdCards table.
It works fine.
Can anybody modify the repository's source ?

Hi
Anybody, who is using Fedora 6 and built the driver successfully?
Looks like string.h does not get included for whatever reasons. Maybe
I'm missing some BuildRequires. I'm currently using
xorg-x11-proto-devel
xorg-x11-server-sdk
pkgconfig
It works fine with Fedora 7, for which I'm using the same
BuildRequires. Unfortunately I don't access to a Fedora 6 system. I'm
using the openSUSE buildservice. I attach the build output.
Best regards,
Stefan

The display size is detected incorrectly on Thinkpad T60p (FireGL v5200,
0x71c4). Fglrx detects it correctly, but when using radeonhd, all fonts
are very small. I measured the actual display size and put it in the
Monitor section (DisplaySize 305 228) and the fonts are of right size now
(the same as with fglrx). Here's Xorg log:

Hi all,
I finally pushed some fixes to the PLL setup and PLL generation code,
and now all problems should be gone.
If you previously had any problems with the PLL and experienced modes
which your monitor wouldn't sync to or which would be wobbling
horizontally, then this commit should fix this.
These things were specifically noticable on the radeon mobilities of
the r500 generation, as these had the pll spread spectrum turned on.
And also, many of the generated modes simply weren't acceptable for
rv6x0 generation hardware, with a redesigned and pickier PLL.
Please give this new code a whirl, and if you still see some dotclock
issues with this, tell me about it asap so i can go and find and fix
them.
Thanks,
Luc Verhaegen.

All the required building blocks are contained in this patch:
* A program to be linked against rhd_id.c which prints the chipset
strings by calling RHDIdentify().
* sed(1) expressions and shell code to actually update the man page
using those strings.
* Example "make update-man" target which interactively updates the
man page in $(srcdir).
Whether/How exactly to integrate this will require some discussion.
The author can imagine multiple options to make use of this code:
* "make check" testcase making sure man/radeon.man and a newly
updated man page match
* "make dist" hook doing the same
* Non-interactive update of man/radeonhd.man, possibly to be run every
time rhd_id.c has changed, so that man/radeonhd.man will never be out
of sync with rhd_id.c. Requires compatibility work on sed expression
(does not work with SED="/sbin/busybox sed")
* Interactive update of man page in source (this code).
Each option has its own number of (dis)advantages.

I assume you are using the DVI cable of your monitor, not the
VGA connector with the DVI dongle.
Please connect your monitor to the other line.

Egbert.

I didn't either.
But the line:
BOGUS LENGTH in write keyboard desc, expected 6376, got 6380
at the end of the log file looks strange.
Can you please run xev to see what event you are getting?
Cheers,

Hi,
just for completeness, I've uploaded the VGA ROM image of my Asus A6JE laptop,
which has an ATI Mobility X1450, to http://home.tiscali.nl/rladan/7186.1043.1231.vga.rom
This image was made using todays version of conntest compiled against libpci-2.2.8 on
FreeBSD i386 8.0-CURRENT from yesterday afternoon.
Regards,
Rene

I did it. No difference. Doesn't work.
Xorg.conf is OK - tested with fglrx and vesa drivers.
I cannot use fglrx because when I launch vmware-remote-console
and then some OS inside the host system is frozen.

Not a driver problem.

For this we most likely will need 3d support as there are no
scalers for video overlays any more.
(actually they may for rs690).

yes.

Yes, we are well aware of the 'missing' features. This is
due to some extent to still missing documentation or documentation
that has been missing for a long time.
I'm not sure if bugzilla entries will help - they are most likely
not looked at as we know about those things already ;)
Cheers,
Egbert.
