What do you want to do with new repos on BuildService? They can be created after release of new Suse version. All repos signed with SuSE Package Signing Key are guaranteed. When you add other repos you should confirm you trust them. But special option for 'zypper ar'. BUT the user will kill us if we are deleting foo although the user has installed foo explicit sometime ago in a seperate installation workflow. So we will feed the solver with this 'explicitly-installed' information. The package history will be the source of this info for now. Maybe later we find some way to store this info that could be used across tools (e.g. directly in the rpm db). Definitely not orphans (deborphan/rpmorphan is also a misfortunate name IMO). Case B: Package X is installed automatically as a dependency while installing package Y. Package Y is then removed, but X stays, with no other package referring to it as a dependency. I don't think the Power Supplies are smart enough or connected enough yet to give that information. At least to the best of my knowledge. On a laptop running on battery some power drain can be calculated to estimate the battery life. On a desktop... I don't think it's going to work. I have a UPS that comes with a monitoring software that shows the power consumption . It runs a little Java based GUI that shows power status. Unfortunately the UPS software only works in Windows and is very hardware specific to this particular UPS. If someone needs these kind of information a UPS with Linux compatible software might just do the trick! #11: Matthias Nagorni (mnagorni) (2009-08-24 12:36:25) It really depends on the user scenario: For a Thin Client type of installation you would probably want to hide this level of system detail, however for notebook usage it appears to be very useful. BUT the user will kill us if we are deleting foo although the user has installed foo explicit sometime ago in a seperate installation workflow. So we will feed the solver with this 'explicitly-installed' information. The package history will be the source of this info for now. Maybe later we find some way to store this info that could be used across tools (e.g. directly in the rpm db).
