Adding bundle-lang-gnome
As my first test in a wm wants to pull in "unknown and unneeded bundle-lang-gnome-x for a language I have no need for.
OK.... Now I wonder if thats the "right thing to do" as it lead to:
bundle-lang-kde bundle-lang-other

On a pristine 13.2 + Updates machine, I don't see it pulling in bundle-lang-gnome-x packages (from your branch); could this be the doing of some additional package that I don't have installed? I have a test project here: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:badshah400:cairo_update_test and am testing it on my laptop. Hi Bjorn! As far as I understand, none of these require a rebuild because cairo 1.14.0 is backward ABI compatible with the version in 13.2. Only those applications need to be rebuilt which explicitly check for the new functions added in cairo 1.14.0 for HiDPI rendering. I checked abiword, for example, and abiword from openSUSE:13.2 works just fine with cairo from my branch. As does KDE.
From what I see, as long as it does not break anything, and the chances of that happening are pretty low looking at the cairo changelog, at least gtk and clutter makes HiDPI not broken on GNOME in 13.2, which it otherwise is.

http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=906687 --- Comment #44 from Atri Bhattacharya <badshah400@gmail.com> --- We might also want to look at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=738270 Essentially, the evince browser plugin causes firefox to sometimes crash, but at least always a temporary freeze followed by a black unresponsive tab when opening eps files and so on within the browser. By default, evince plugin steps in and causes the mess. I sugggest, given the small population of epiphany users who are served by this browser-plugin, we simply disable it, to make things with firefox more useable. I don't see a fix coming from either evince upstream or firefox upstream that actually resolves this, at least soon. In the meantime... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

There are not only problems with Firefox. The evince-browser-plugin also causes QtWebKit to crash, see bug#901006. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

If you feel confident that it is ABI compatible, then go ahead :-) - But you "own" the fallout (if there is any). No doubt a VERY nice enhancement for HiDPI displays. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I am ready to take responsibility if I know what's the worst that could happen. Perhaps, Dominique would like to weigh in on this, and I am ok with whatever you guys decide.
No doubt a VERY nice enhancement for HiDPI displays.
My opinion is that GNOME on openSUSE 13.2 on an HiDPI is unusable, so it is more than just an eye-candy enhancement... but I have the fix for my purpose and it does not look like anyone else is complaining, so... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I tried to install the update here now with YaST, "zypper up", and Apper (KDE's PackageKit frontend), and evince-browser-plugin got removed without any conflict/dependency problem in every case. So I'd say, this looks good. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

A major problem I have with GNOME (since openSuse 13.2) is that the UI is only half translated (with German l7n). This is on two different machines. This update does not solve it (but seems to work well otherwise).
FYI, per today's update from Zaitor's branch, the problem is solved! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
