We might also want to look at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=738270 Essentially, the evince browser plugin causes firefox to sometimes crash, but at least always a temporary freeze followed by a black unresponsive tab when opening eps files and so on within the browser. By default, evince plugin steps in and causes the mess. I sugggest, given the small population of epiphany users who are served by this browser-plugin, we simply disable it, to make things with firefox more useable. I don't see a fix coming from either evince upstream or firefox upstream that actually resolves this, at least soon. In the meantime...
