After suspend to disk my printer does not work. When I try to reconfigure the printer in yast, there is the old configuration and a new one for the same printer. The new one is not configured and shows as connection /dev/usb/lp0. When I restart the computer, the printer is working again. When I tried to print a document after suspend and I restart the computer, during this restart the printer is responding and printing the document I tried to print before restart. I referred to yast not because that is not working, but because it is maybe related to this problem. To me it seems that the printer is not correctly reactivated after restart. There seems to be another printer/connection active (is that called a spooler?) for the same printer (I have only one printer). And this is only happening after suspend to disk. I hope this helps. Does it help to disconnect the printer from the USB and reconnect it after the suspend and resume? After that the printout starts. I have rund the commands and will use one comment for each with the result before and after suspend: I put the files with the results before and after in two attachments. A package that is shipping known broken software or drivers might add a hook that does the unloading / reloading, but pm-utils will only provide the mechanism. the ipw3945 package does this, for example. As far as I can see the pagefile is loaded and when the system is switching to the desktop, the system freezes. When I disable the bootsplash I end with a black screen and with the bootsplash I end with the resume bootsplash with the progressbar at the end. The only option I have is a hard reset. Then I boot the default kernel.
