Immediately after update, the software update icon reports there are 24 updates available. Clicking the icon opens Software Updater and lists the available updates. (2) We maybe could change the HAL mount script to ignore volume.ignore=TRUE for the root user, but not sure because of bug #155682. (3) In general: HAL allow only mount volumes, if they are in fstab, which have as already discussed user/users mount option _and_ if they have mount a mount point in /media. We could fix maybe the user/users option for the root user but we can't change the /media check. Disucssion with the gnuplot and, inturn, pango developers revealed this problem.
